Not only do you run the possiblity of it not having decent coverage, the places you buy them from offer little guarantees and, judging by reviews, ship you open box or even different models. It's a risk just to have a few features that other phones removed.

Collecting tonne of sony Xperia phone.Last month managed to bought 2ndhand 5 iii at ~ us$160 Thats is bargain price considering for 3years old $1000 flagship sony phone . While this 1Vi beast also will be in future collection few year from now.

Anton .el PAPI., 26 May 2024I imagine you use a VPN to make the purchase, right? No, I don't use a VPN. I just went over to their website (amazon.de) and entered my address (just the pincode/postal code will also work). Then when I searched for a product, it showed me only those that were shipped to my location. The German taxes were removed from the phone's price and the Indian import taxes were added, along with the packing and delivery charges. DHL delivered the headphones quickly and safely, so I'm quite confident for the phone's delivery too. And yes, you need to take care of your country's import process. Here it involved sharing my ID and address proof with DHL and the process was smooth!

I will come back and let you know if it actually works! Should arrive in the third week of June.

They already delivered the WH-CH520 wireless headphones that came in the bundle a couple of days ago 🥳 I guess Christmas came early 😁

          Reputation for high quality?
Maybe their cameras and tvs are good quality. But phones, game systems, computers, and other products have a severe lacking of quality control but an overt abundance of over pricing

diego, 26 May 2024Xperias aren't iPhones? Is that supposed to be a count... moreThey aren't designed like iPhones. That's precisely why some of us would buy them but their limited availability and price make it moot. I would buy a 5vi but that might not exist and likely won't be available in the U S. Please feel free to attack me personally because I prefer the design and features of older (yet recent) phones. It's expected, apparently.

Xperias aren't iPhones? Is that supposed to be a counterargument to the fact that 60Hz screen is the same thing iPhones offer? Yes xperias aren't iPhones but a 60hz screen is a 60hz screen. If it's not acceptable in an Xperia then it is not acceptable in an iPhone. Sounds like gsmarena had double standards

Some Anonymous Prson, 26 May 2024Macro photography on a phone is actually useful. As I said, all of those phones are telemacro capable.

                      Here's a 300mm (13.3x) zoom shoot from my phone:

                      https://imgsli.com/MjY3Mzgz

Didn't even try to take that pic.

xslvrxslwt, 26 May 2024So far you've listed only aesthetic things and this is... moreLiterally none of those I mentioned were aesthetic and if it was a so called 'camera phone' it should've been advertised as a camera and a replacement for DSLRs which they didn't. So my point still stands

Sony doesn't seem to view their phone division the way that Apple, Samsung and others do. It's just another electronic gadget they produce which is probably why they don't schedule it at the same time as the major phone manufacturers. Like other electronic gadgets they make, it isn't available all over the world. I've found their audio products to be dependable, durable but far from the best and overpriced compared to what you can get from other companies. Their phones are no different. What makes them desirable is that they maintain a classic design and haven't yet removed some of the features some of us actually use. Other than the non-user replaceable battery and the cost, their phones are more user friendly than most of the others. Not requiring a tool to open the sim/SD tray is a nice touch. They probably manufacture phones because they are a huge multinational entertainment corporation and can use those phones as a platform for their music and films.

Anonymous, 26 May 2024Not always. Sometimes new version makes your phone faster. ... moreMaterial you makes me nauseous. I had to go into the developer mode and eliminate animations because that text curving made me stick to my stomach. Literally. I tried to avoid scrolling to the bottom of pages but I couldn't do it in a way that prevented that text curving. It's quite a nasty thing for them to have done. We were used to the shading. That's fine. It really doesn't matter much considering the state of the world but it is one more little annoyance. Oh, and t mobile tech support? "You'll have to get over it. You need to live in the present."

Kevin, 26 May 2024I don't think anyone should offer more than 1 android ... moreNot always. Sometimes new version makes your phone faster. My 4 years old Samsung A52 which isn't a flagship works better with last android 14. For my flagship Sony Z3 which I had years ago yes it got slower after its last android 6 update.

xslvrxslwt, 26 May 2024We've seen how good the processing is on this wannabe ... more1.This crap has better build quality than the '3' phones you mentioned even freaking Samsung does
2.the telephoto on this crap is a continuous zoom it's 2nd best in macro
3.this crap has expandable storage which should be on every phone with a 4k video capability
4.phones can't replace professional cameras that's why it has a native alpha camera thing to be an accessory (if wanted) to a camera not a replacement.
Only thing wrong with is the price it's too expensive

Bravosixgoingdark, 26 May 2024It just makes the screen smaller and uneven that's eve... moreIt's a terrible design choice. A little more bezels would even make the phone easier to use. It's not like wearing rimless glasses frames. There is no good functional or aesthetic reason to have a screen with almost no bezels and that silly notch. It doesn't save space because these phones have already become too large to comfortably fit in pockets. Ah, but I must "get with the times", I'm a "fool", a "loser" etc, according to people with less maturity than a two year old.

Until a small camera on a phone is as good as an average inexpensive real camera built to last for decades and is as easy to handle, I'm not about to spend over a thousand on a device intended to last a few years at most. The camera obsession on phones has become ridiculous. Reviews spend most of their reviews discussing the cameras and they aren't professional photographers. Where's the coverage about reception and call quality? How's about a review of the audio quality though headphones, not the small little crap speakers on the phone. They ought to put these this in their pockets, walk around a bit and then review how it feels. No, it is almost exclusively about the camera. Maybe a little about the battery. By the way, I would have likely bought the 1VI as my next phone if it were cheaper and available where I live because it still has features and a design that other companies abandoned.
