SShock, 26 May 2024The facts you have no clue what I'm even talking about... moreMy 6 classic runs fine. Even a phone needs some seconds to start downloading or updating. Come on its just a small watch with low hardware. If you expect a rocket fast performance you will be disappointed.

Yes, pocket watches are older than wristwatches, but I don't see your point. The first wristwatch is an oval watch. The Cartier Santos which is a square watch existed long before Apple existed. Also, Tag Heuer Monaco watches which are very well-known watches are square watches. Saying that square watches are Apple design is extremely ignorant.

I wasn't talking about "having Wifi support", I was talking that Wifi in it is used in totally garbage way. It takes several seconds before watch figures out you're downloading app and switches data to Wifi instead of slow BT and it's also totally clueless when it should switch from BT to Wifi when GW loses connection to phone via BT. Apple Watch 5 that I had years ago did ALL of this so seamlessly I couldn't even notice it and it was rock reliable. On GW it was all over the place and most of the time just not working as it should. Get your facts straight.

I've never been into smartwatches, just stuck with regular watches from a top brand here in India - Titan (and it's sub-brands Sonata and Fastrack). I recently bought a solar-powered Casio that I absolutely adore! Just a few days ago, I was looking at both Samsung's and Apple's smartwatches and kind of liked the Galaxy Watch6 and the Apple Watch SE (and also the Series 9) - purely based on their looks. Didn't really like the ultra 2, nor this potential Watch7 Ultra. I've been thinking about whether it would be a useful thing for me.

A general question: What do you guys use it for? I don't go running, I don't wish to track how many steps I walk, and my anti-social self doesn't get enough notifications on my phone so I'm not really keen on getting them on my wrist!

Just from a tech point of view, is it worth trying out? Is Samsung's better or Apple's?

PS- I absolutely despise OneUI (and Samsung's products and services in general), but can manage with Apple (generally).

It looks incredible and features are plenty, finally a good enough reason to upgrade from my Watch3.

There's no need for this nastiness. Most aren't this way but quite a few are.

Unless you have the latest expensive disposable electronic gadget, you are old, out of place, shouldn't show your face in public. There's quite a bit of ageist comments here as well as people scolding those who aren't wealthy. It's the sales technique used in phone stores and Apple stores, at least in the U.S. Those are the only places where anyone mocks me for my phone or cares one iota what device I use. And yes, most here seem to worship these greedy environmentally destructive exploitive corporations. Why care what brand you use? I try to find the most ethical, practically non-existent, company and buy the most affordable device that has the features I want.

Not to criticize anyone, again, I can indeed understand the use for these watches even though I don't care for them. I came here it of curiosity about the designs. I actually might get one one of these days if they looked nice and I could leave my phone at home. I thought that people might get a well needed laugh out of this. From the 60's.

koko, 25 May 2024Smartwatches shouldn't be round, there are no reasons ... moreThere is a sight attempt to design them so that they resemble a real watch, most of which are round with a few that are rectangular. Almost none are squares as they look bad on your wrist. As it is, watch cases have become too large but that's due to exhibitionists wanting to show off their luxury watches. Even the relatively large Seiko automatic I bought is slightly too large and I have average sized wrists. These so-called "smart" watches just don't look that good.
