Really strong start, imo this would have been the xperia to turn tables in a lot of markets, idk why they pulled this one out of the US this year

      If red would be available I could have been preordered.
      But the downgrad on the screen is a concern for me,and I wear glasses, YES I can see a difference between 400-500-600 ppi on screen. I REALLY loved my S7 and S8 in that aspect. Since then, it's a downgrade to a lower 500 and now below 400 ... That's what I had on my Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro !
      And it was one the reason why I sold it, the fact that the main camera was a pop-up was really good.
      I really wish they'd reconsider on the next iteration or making a Xperia Ultra ... But I fear that the lack of software support and missing a few software features; considering also if they are gonna close market again due to poor lack of marketing/advertising AND product availibilty ... What's on the point of promising 3-4-5 years if they are gonna close in 2 or 3 ? I'm pessimistic; perhaps; but also a realist. Since they are closing studio with good IP, I would not be surprise that they would exit market like LG did ...

      That's sad because they had a LOT when they had a compact line 😋 (And the MicroSD slot is 😍)

        Red is cool but I miss OG purple. Now that's an Xperia colour through and through.

          Total sales over a financial quarter would be tabulated into marketshare - but again marketshare is for an entire year 4x Quarters or 12 months.

Sony phones are good but they're expensive and have limited availability. I use a 5iii. I bought it when it was on sale. The screen is too narrow, music does sound significantly better on my older LGs with dedicated dacs, the battery could be better but other than that, it's a reliable, easy to use phone (other than the camera app) I use and don't think much about. I don't worry that somewhere someone is using a phone with superior specs. I like the design and do use expandable memory and the headphone jack, even for phone calls. I also find the led notification light to be useful.

I mean no disrespect, but I can't afford to collect expensive disposable gadgets designed with planned obsolescence.

                        I don't understand why people on these tech blogs care about what phones other people use or about which phone manufacturers more money than others. Other than maybe the Fairphone, I'm not that knowledgeable about them, all of these companies are environmentally destructive and use cheap exploited labor, often child labor. Why should I have my ego tied to a corporation? The only time my phone has been commented on by anyone other than a friend asking me if my phone works well because they need a new one and want suggestions or nasty sales people trying in vain to shame me into buying a popular phone, was a young clerk in a store asking me where I got my phone because he liked the shape. It was an LG V20 that was over five years old at the time. It lasted longer than newer phones I replaced it with.

                          This year's model is SO bad, it's not worth even to considering buying.
