If Nokia tries to go for android it will be a big game changer in the smartphone industry. Nokia has a good reputation in making very high quality smartphones. imagine if Lumia has an android version. I guess it will sell like hotcakes. They should have done this a bit earlier though but it is still not too late for them. If they want to stay relevant in this industry they should not be afraid to try android.

Another Analyst, 01 Jul 2013Recently used a Nexus 4 at a shop and noticed scrolling lag... moreThere are so many folks using Android devices with lag but they are immune to the lag. They do not notice it. The fluidity is only realised once you start using Windows Phone. I used Nexus 7 and Frankly, I was fine with little bit of lag here and there. Only after moving to Lumia 920, I realised the difference. WP OS is in different league, when it comes to fluidity. Even my friends with iPhones are pleasantly surprised by the performance during screen navigations and page loads. WP is beautiful.

AnonD-74115, 01 Jul 2013"75% of the apps in Android are simply wallpapers"... moreI'm speaking from experience, whatever you call it. It's true that Google Play Store has many apps but most of the apps are trials, ad wares, marlwares, dolphin browser's add ons, themes of different launchers, whatsapp add ons, copy of another applications, pornographic apps, and many trojans. There's nearly 700000 applications on the Android OS but only 100000 apps are worthwhile. I know what i am talking about. I highly doubt if you've ever been to the Google Play Store. Go there and check see for yourself before posting irrelevant jokes.

there wouldn't be any point in being nokia if they went for android... at this point they are considered almost a synonim for a windows phone... when you say windows phone most people will think of nokia (and microsoft of course).. that would never happen with android.. it would probably take them a while to create a pleasent interaction for users with android and they don't have that time.. other OEMs have much more experience with android and because of that they are somewhat able to compensate for its weaknesses.. every business is mostly a trial and error affair and incosistencies were the main cause for nokia being in this mess in the first place.. they had too many divisions each pulling its own way.. different versions of different OSes, teams for development with teams for design all being separate with almost no contact between them at all... Elop unified the company and strengthened it from the inside and now they have to stick with the plan and wait for the magic to happen

Android was laggy i admit...but it isn't laggy now...may be rarely in some occasions..just a small hiccup that's it...but for that small hiccup i can't give up a feature rich os...with lot of customisation....

[deleted post]Recently used a Nexus 4 at a shop and noticed scrolling lags. Admit it, whether it's Google Android or Sammy Android, they all share one thing in common and that is, "lag.'' I bet you've never used a Nexus 4 since you claimed it's lag free but you didn't notice the scrolling lag.

Don't worry about Nokia. They will survive. With current trends, they will gain some significant market share in about 10-15 years. Since, monopoly market they once learned to rule will be no more, and they, along with MS, must adapt to healthy competition. Something they have no real experience with.

MS is paying a bonus to Nokia for promoting WP. If I remember correctly 2014 or 2015 will be the year that the cashflow will go reverse. If I'm not mistaken though, the deal is good for Nokia in terms of cashflow (meaning they will get more than what they'll pay MS)
