I think Elop made a under table deal with Samsung for not going for android and let Sammy take all the juice. There is no doubt it's only Nokia's absence in android world which allowed Sammy and other OEMs to make such huge business. I use HTC One, but still I would buy Nokia if it's an android. And there are millions out there like me.

AnonD-58567, 01 Jul 2013Lol...same lame comment about android...have you ever used ... moreI have used Samsung Galaxy Y, Samsung Galaxy S3, Samsung Galaxy S4, HTC One X, HTC One X+, HTC One, Nexus 7, LG Optimus G, Sony Xperia S and Sony Xperia Z, without an exception, all of them had heating, battery backup not up to the mark and lagging issues, and because of that i sold them all at little loss and finally moved to a Lumia 520, trust me i never faced any lags or heating issues or battery issues. Windows phone 8 OS is the most fluid OS ever, it's well optimized and the most important thing is Windows Phone 8 OS don't sell your privacy like Android does.

I am no expert but do Nokia pay a fee for Microsoft license even tho its same team? What I mean is Android is free but surley included in Nokias W8 smartphones price is this fee,,if they went Android they could make their smartphones cheaper than W8 counterparts..

The problem with WP is that it's not evolved enough yet, but it's on the way. Why would they let Google monopolize the mobile market? And btw don't expect an open platform, which anyone can implement, to be as reliable as one which functions on contract basis only. And else, the adult people, working people, business people, all except kids never ever would be keen to learn that their phone needs to be rooted and flashed and installed custom rom and taking special care on maintainance.

WP8 is more beautiful and more innovative, it has high future potential (due to increasing market share and awareness, and a growing ecosystem), it's more smoother and less laggier (low in resources whilst keeping performance high), Nokia have made exclusive WP apps like Here and City Lens which MIGHT not be ported to Android, and Android already has too many OEMs.

I believe Nokia and MS will succeed indeed.

it is clear from me that nokia is in a difficult situation. since wp 7.5 almost two years is over and nokia is keeping on struggling. for me microsoft is reason why wp isnt up todate because it slow software improvements. i think if 2013 ends and nokia still hasnt 8-9& market share they have to do something. for me it dont have to be android maybe ubuntu tizen or sailfish with its own swipe ui with android apps would be the key to success

I think Nokia needs one game changer device.. Just like HTC One... or Galaxy S.. rest will fall in line.

Nokia should not give up to Andriod.. Nokia can be a true competitor to Nokia if they can bring in one good device..
