If the note 3 is like a note 2 flattened further then its display size is increased by their thickness ratio - 5.5*sqrt(9.4/8) = 5.96 ~ 6". Perfect. Samsung played the size game well - taking it in small steps giving people time to adjust.

The gnote 3 must have 32/64 gig of ROM or else I'll stick to my gnote 2, it means no upgrading! !!
Add stereo speakers and fm receiver, and I'm in.

Believe me when I say that this phone is gonna be the monster. More RAM is the least to be expected. It's gonna surpass the S4 in every single aspect, CPU, GPU, screen, battery, camera, features, functionality, innovations, as how the Note II surpassed the S3. The only surprise would be, if there's a single aspect that it doesn't.

The SnapDragon 800 will come clocked @ 2.3ghz & CAN b overclocked to 2.6, with the 330 Adreno GPU or maybe the 335, if avail @ the time.
Screen will b 5.99" Amoled, possibly a flex screen. This will be the latest version Snap 800, with embedded Gobi modem, which will take advantage of the newer advanced LTE. This is also where the 3 gigs of DUAL CHANNEL ram come into play also. Any unit is only as fast as its slowest component, no matter who builds it. Wouldn't b surprise to see some Carbon Fiber (STRONGER/LIGHTER) since Samsung has partnered with a major Carbon Fiber Mfg. So I am looking forward to upgrading from my Note II (overclocked to 1.92mhz) to the new Note III @ 2.3mhz, with a considerably faster GPU, which the (Mali 400 GPU) is the bottleneck on a Note II.!

AnonD-61409, 03 Jul 2013Having a powerful processor it needs more RAM to make possi... moreIf we look at Android roadmap the first devices was the TMobile G1 with 192 MB RAM, 256 MB ROM and 528 MHz ARM 11 Qualcomm Right now with Jelly Bean and according to the specs of Note 3 and to go on 3-4GB of RAM and OCTA Core processors over 2 GHz for just see Android "smooth"
In WP 7.8 you can use it without great suffering on a Lumia 505 with mere 265 MB RAM and a 800 MHz processor, the WP 8 on the Lumia 620 runs with 512 MB of RAM and a Dual-core 1 GHz.
In iPhone 4 iOS 6 runs perfectly that OS with 512 MB of RAM and a 1GHz Cortex-A8.
This means that Android and accompanying manufacturers have tripled the specs to run Android while others do not. In fact Android IN STOCK without altered ROM or anything like that, I doubt that Jelly Bean can even run on a phone with 512 MB of RAM and 1 GHz
It's a shame that Android lovers have to live with such greed just to keep an OS running "like butter" as android users said and a hardware that they dont need of both Google and the other companies (Samsung, Motorola, LG, etc, etc, etc..)
Is a Phone not a supercomputer geeze!!

Lags do happen, but they happen rarely and very rarely, and; for LESS THAN A SECOND. And happens in any computational system.
Is not a real drawback as most kids like to point it out.
It's like when you get a cold. You get it rarely, right? Because of this people can't say you are a WEEK SICKLY BOY, can they?? They can't, if they did, they would be exaggerating and being stupid as an annoying clown.

that 3gb of ram isn't going to mean anything unless samsung makes their crappy touchwiz launcher faster.
a heavy launcher like sense 5 can do it (HTC One is lag free, atleast so far i've seen) , so why can't they?

What is it for? It is for MULTITASKING, of course probably not all Note 3 users are going to use up to the 2.8+ of RAM GB, maybe, but it's good to have. It gives the needed support to open more and more apps and do whatever the user wants without worrying about closing anything. Understood?
The more RAM the better.
This is comparable as if you had a Core i7 PC. Would you use such PC with only 2 GB of RAM in the system?
Of course you can, but the system would choke if you try to really work as having a Core i7. Do you understand now?
As the Core i7 in a PC is the Snapdragon 800 in a Smartphone. So, no need further explanation: the more RAM the better.
And with this I'm not saying this Note 3 is the best. I don't even like it, but I can recognize something good when I see it, unlike others.

games and apps dev cant catch up with modern tech. nfs most wanted and dead trigger is one of the best looking games out there but it still run smooth on my 1gb ram ip5. why people even need 3gb ram if theres no mindblowing high graphic games in store.
