I love Samsung, but come on, this is why apple continues to crush it regardless of peoples opinion of them, dumping Snapdragon for a cheaper Mediatek all the while driving the price up just screams tacky, at least stick to an older snapdragon chip.

Anonymous, 13 Jun 2024now this is gooood. 9300 on a tab would be absolute devil. yeah ,i absolutely agree with you

YUKI93, 13 Jun 2024Hmmm... quite a weird decision to go for MediaTek after yea... moreAs much as I like Mediatek a lot, there's no denying that Snapdragon is a much better chip for after-EOL support. Even Snapdragon drivers are still more stable than Mediatek drivers.

Anonymous, 13 Jun 2024The Tab S9+ and M4 11" iPad Pro are both $999.Why do you compare a 12.4" device and a 11" device? Also, right now I can buy a Samsung Galaxy S9+ for less than $900.

Even snapdragon 8 chipsets, no especially snapdragon 8 chipsets got efficiency and thermals issues in 2021-2022 until 2022h2 because of lackluster samsung foundry nodes and arm architectural design teams dropping the ball on efficiency. That's why there were dimensity editions back in 2022 with dimensity 9000

[deleted post]Lol as if you know more. Yes 7 gen x was lackluster outside of 7+ gen 2/3 and 8s gen 3 and they certainly wouldn't have released them without dimensity 8000 series

leo sk, 13 Jun 2024Is there any doubt about that? There is, especially outside of flagship socs. Qualcomm would release lackluster midrange chipset at high prices over and over again if for no competition.

Just my opinion, 13 Jun 2024Are you perhaps implying that Dimensity is inferior to Snap... moreIs there any doubt about that?

Oh dear. Meditek heats. Faced and facing heating issue. My phone sometimes even heat up if I turn in Flash light (K50i).

The tab s10 11.0 may use exynos 2400 or a dimensity 9300 not plus the ultra version must use a sd x elite to compete with apple's ipad pro

Just my opinion, 13 Jun 2024Finally it is about time. Samsung using Dimensity SoC. Let ... moreSamsung has been using Mediatek processors since quite a long time ago alongside with Unisoc and several other processors other than Qualcomm and Samsung's own Exynos chip. But they most likely targeted on entry level until mid range.
Meanwhile, they use Exynos chip on upper mid range until flagship devices.
It's very rare to heard some rumors that Samsung is going to use Mediatek on high end devices. Maybe there is a reason where Mediatek could be sell cheaper and perform either better or about the same as Qualcomm Snapdragon to reduce costs of manufacturing.
Exynos won't be going anywhere as they're trying to improve their processors as Exynos well-known for overheating issues and sometimes gap 5%-10% in terms of performance than Qualcomm and Mediatek.
Mediatek back then well-known for less powerful chipset and overheating but now things have changed where Mediatek is improving and sometimes surpassed Qualcomm in terms of performance.
Also, back to Samsung. Not all Samsung are using Mediatek chipset. But you can still find several devices are using Mediatek Helio G85, Helio G99, Dimensity 6100+ and several older processors. But most of the time, you'll see either Snapdragon or Exynos chipset in most markets. Snapdragon mostly exclusive to US, Canada and South Korea for flagship including selected A series devices while Exynos mostly available at almost all markets from upper mid range to high end.

It would have been better if the Tab S10 FE+ got MediaTek/previous-year flagship Exynos instead of midrange chipsets. As for the flagships, we might have to wait and see if MediaTek can be a better choice than Snapdragon.

                                    Why not? Driver support!

Snapdragon is be all and end all for games because of drivers.
