Anonymous, 14 Jun 2024Its a disaster even for my S21 FE with 4500mah battery. Exy... moreSame with S21 FE 5G with 888. Add a 120 Hz refresh rate screen with non LTPO panel and software choice of only 60 and 120 Hz, 4500 mAh performs more like 3000 mAh. Even with basic usage, I've to charge the phone twice a day. My S23 (upgraded from S21 FE 5G) with similar usage is happy to last full day with maximum battery protection enabled. S25 with no change in battery and most likely Exynos will be another S24 sadly. At least that's how things are looking.

Hopefully the weight will be reduced instead then. Or faster charging is possible too, but at higher wattages I doubt its usefulness because chargers at like 65W are not widely available.

gc8, 14 Jun 2024Also be ready to embrace Samsung slowest charging.Since the battery lasts a long time keeping battery health I've got no issues with 3900mAh or 4000mAh.
I don't waste hours of my day on senseless social apps. Lol

I'm on a snapdragon S20 and I'm not disappointed that they stick to the same sizes. Isn't hardware becoming more energy efficient? Besides, I appreciate a lightweight phone and if you want to make them boat anchors then fit a big battery or steel chassi.
After figuring out how to set up OneUI 5.1 I now get 9-10h sot on the S20. That's fine for an old battery and hardware. If an S25 can achieve 12h then that's quite nice already. Real nice would be if the vanilla S25 could take advantage of 45W chargers. Also give us 12-16GB of ram Samsung! Phones are so fast nowadays that when you use them in desktop mode you can easily run out of ram and swap will not cut it ladies and gentlemen, because it wastes power and wears your flash. For what? Ram isn't expensive. Just look at the competition.

Bigger brands can manipulate and play their own game with consumer mindset, withholding technology, psychology challenging you for being cheap

Stop spending all day every day on your phone.
I never had battery issues, even with the "dreaded" s10e battery. It was always more than enough for me.
The only time I ran oit of battery was hours of picture taking, and that will run out the battery on ANY phone. Literally the same, from s23 to s23 ultra and now s24 ultra. They are all 2 day phones.

This capacity could still be fine, if they have fast charging (like 65W and above)

Yeah Samsung again copying the bad about apple without the good, using small battery while using inefficient exynos chipset. Remember, exynos is bad no matter what ads and payed youtubers tell you

I was tired of Samsung's slow charging speeds, lower capacity batteries and Exynos chipsets so I switched to the Honor Magic 6 Pro. What a gorgeous phone and it reminds me of happier times with Huawei.

It's not about the size or thickness. Base S series are already thick enough as they are. It's the positioning that is designed in such a way that the base S users either spend more money and get a plus or ultra or just live with compromise of battery and some other things.

NickValok, 14 Jun 2024After Asus increased the size of its Zenfone, Samsung'... moreIncrease the thickness of the phone. 7.6mm is a very small space, you could quite literally put 4500mAh-5000mAh in such a space if you just increased the thickness.

NickValok, 14 Jun 2024After Asus increased the size of its Zenfone, Samsung'... moreIf Samsung really wanted then they could easily fit a 4500-5000 mAh cell but the biggest issue is why?
Samsung is assured of their market position and knows that their phone is gonna sell,no matter what. Thats why samsung is on streak of milking their customers out of their brand name just like apple.
Just look at A & S-series recently, you'll not be surprised by knowing how little Samsung is trying these days.

Anonymous, 14 Jun 20244000 + exynos = great recipe for disastrous battery life. Its a disaster even for my S21 FE with 4500mah battery. Exynos chipsets just heat up a lot faster and that leads to reduced battery endurance
