Get ready for a disappointment.

"Get ready for a disappointment" errrr are we rly surprised, don't think so, typically Samsung nowadays. Not much new on their releases.
When I get tired of my S24 Ultra I rly don't buy a Sammy phone in some years for sure.

My job phone Xiaomi 13T pro is in many ways better and especially faster in many ways.

I am only upgrading to my next Samsung phone when they update their batteries, ideally with the new battery tech they are working on. The phones otherwise are the same, there is no significant changes in the last 3 or so generations.

[deleted post]Base S23 uses the same cameras as previous S22.
Also the screen is not Ltpo.
      S23 starts at just 128gb UFS 3.1
S23 supports 25W fast charging only.
And last it doesnt support UltraWideBand compared to the bigger models.

So yeah, its obviously a cut down version from the more expensive Ultra.

it's not just the loss of competitors in the android market, samsung is trying to copy apple in everything, especially in profit with their smartphones, leaving the customer behind.
how useful is a 7.6mm flat case with what feels like 15 cameras and huge bumps if the phone gives up the ghost after a few hours and gets as hot as a hotplate?
no more microSD slot, no headphone jack, no easily replaceable battery and so on...
at least after more than 10 years they have given up the stupid display with the curved edges, what a useless "innovation" that was rather the opposite, an exnovation, the loss of usability and manageability for the user and an increase in profit for samsung, and only for oprical reasons because it supposedly looks prettier to their taste

Why not? It is pretty good. Just put 12gb ram. And 16GB ram on plus and ultra.

Samsung's been downgrading the Vanilla S since the S20 so they could sell more Ultras ( the galaxy note wannabe )

In the near future, Samsung will likely lose top 3 position especially in china/asian country if they keep doing this (small hardware improvement & slow charger)

You can either have bigger battery and thicker phone or smaller battery and thinner phone. I personally choose the latter any day of the week.

ProMax Ultra, 14 Jun 2024If Samsung really wanted then they could easily fit a 4500-... moresadly that's the truth, the new CEO is horrible. Completely corporatized the company, it might be making more money but there's no soul left. Got rid of their expandable storage and headphone jack first, then the charger, then they started stagnating. Just sad really, took away everything that made Samsung great back in the day, innovation and being ahead of others in terms of hardware. Chinese companies were playing catch up for the most part, after Huawei went away, Oppo/Vivo lost the european license and the CEO change, Samsung just shifted gears completely. HTC, Nokia, LG, so many are gone. This is what happens when competition isn't fierce in all markets.

4Ah is enough. Work on optimisation and longevity. Also, fast charging: max half an hour to full charge from empty

So the display is supposed to become larger (at 6.4 in), the phone bigger, but the battery remains the same.

Add a 120 Hz refresh rate screen with non LTPO panel and software choice of only 60 and 120 Hz, 4500 mAh performs more like 3000 mAh. Even with basic usage, I've to charge the phone twice a day. My S23 (upgraded from S21 FE 5G) with similar usage is happy to last full day with maximum battery protection enabled. S25 with no change in battery and most likely Exynos will be another S24 sadly. At least that's how things are looking.
