Motorola Moto E14 arrives quietly: a £70 Android Go phone with some improvements

17 June 2024
Compared to the E13 from last year, the E14 has faster storage, some display improvements and faster charging (well, kind of).

What's more surprising: the Android Go program still exists or Motorola launching a new Moto E when the G04 was expected to be its most basic device in 2024?
Disappointing!

Darth Caesium, 17 Jun 2024That storage is eMMC though and it starts at 32GB, it'... moreI've already tipped the staff here about how all variants except the European 3/32 variant (uses eMCP, not eMMC) of the Nokia G11 Plus feature UFS 2.2 capped at UFS 2.0 speeds in Android 12, but unfortunately, they aren't willing to update their inaccurate information.

CPU-Z also proves that the G11 Plus features UFS 2.2, so are the countless reviews from small-scale YouTubers and mobile review websites that actually go into depth with real life usage and specifications.

The screen protection of the G11 Plus is Gorilla Glass 5 according to their Indian website, but it's unspecified here. It's easy to get an idea of the screen protection by knocking on the display. The G11 Plus I've tested feels more or less similar to my Nokia 8, and feels far solid in comparison to a

I'm not sure why the staff here hates HMD, and don't even care to update those specifications. Disappointingly enough, they haven't included the internal FM radio transmitter featured on every Nokia phone since 2019, as well as purposefully listing all of the UFS-based phones as eMMC to mislead innocent visitors of this website.

On a side note, most Nokia phones had a storage speed cap implemented with the debut Android version in them, removed with subsequent updates, hence why a lot of users claim that their Nokia phone is faster than when it was launched. Those who have owned HMD's phones understand, and those who haven't owned, don't.

Also, the 4/64 variant of the G11 Plus costs $65 here brand new, while the 2/64 Moto E13 with eMMC costs $90. The price may depend on region, and we should consider that too.

Few years ago 2GB RAM, dual camera , 15W charging , HD screen with even Gorila Glass protection and 60hz, not even 90hz were flagship specs and we should appreciate that. And the bezzels were way bigger, with pshysical buttons on the screen.
Now those specs cost only $70 and probably free with some sort of SIM , and you can play some basic games, email, watch videos and use some of your favroutite news, weather etc.apps for the cost of 2 t-shirts from some fancy shop.
Same low-level device before 10 years would've had tiny screen with some sort of 480x854 or below resolution, no IP ratings and protective glass and would be slow as hell.
