Voting with money isn't winning with money. When you vote you may win or lose. Other people also have money and can also vote. It's funny that this needs to be explained.

          His point was that "voting with your wallet" is not a viable solution for an individual, if you get outvoted by the collective. Especially in a case where the collective is not even voting for their own interests.

          In the history of PC Gaming, there has been so many times that Nvidia was the slower product or the worse value product. In a meritocracy, Nvidia would have shrunk or failed as a company. But because this group has supported them in bad days, it's caused the formation of a monopoly. AMD has learned their lesson. They do not care for geeks, nerds, and PC Gamers. I don't blame them.

          The RTX 4090 should have costed closer to a GTX 580. The reason it doesn't is because of people stupidity, corporate greed, niche innovations, and just psychology/marketing.

Game Developers will put in new graphical features that they have not fleshed out properly or optimised. These days all of those are lumped into the "Ultra Settings" mode. But make no mistake, they are not for consumers.

            For instance, RDR2 is a very polished and optimised game. But initial reviews were all negative because PC Gamers are boneheaded. If you dialled things properly, you get very fast, very smooth, very consistent performance, with the best graphics of its day. If you just hit everything to Ultra, then you struggle.

            So for 21:9, 120fps, 4K Gaming it is possible. But you need to dial the Settings back to High, Medium, Very High, or a combination. You also need to have enough VRAM, and just enough Oomph in the dGPU. You also need to be playing in a decent game, one that isn't buggy or badly ported. It doesn't matter if you go with Nvidia or AMD, but it might matter if you go with Intel, Qualcomm, or Apple. But overall, it is very doable as long as you are intelligent about it. Things like DLSS/FSR and Frame-Insertion are there to compliment the game, not be relied upon. Full RayPath Tracing is not possible, so we use the current "ray tracing" techniques but I would avoid it, unless the performance hit is negligible.

            Eg/ AMD RX-6800 can be much faster than an RTX-4070 if you know what you are doing.

                      They rode the crypto boom into the AI boom. Nvidia can't stop booming. I always thought gpus were a one-trick pony but it seems they can be useful for other things apart from gaming.

                            This is like the dot com boom all over again but with AI, many companies will become very overvalued like the chat bot ones.

                              Praying for the EU to rip Nvidia a new one over "unfair business practices" etc & other DMA violations.

                              We've seen how Nvidia behaves when they're a monopoly - they have absolutely no regard for the consumers. The worst part is that people keep buying their GPUs because they are simply the best - there really aren't any viable alternatives to Nvidia's GPUs.

Artificial stands for expectations i guess.

                                  Apple, Alphabet and Microsoft are definetely not bubbles and they are not depending on expectations. Nvidia is on place 115 in revenue, place 11 in earnings and place 1 in bubbleland.
