19 June 2024

      And dont forget to add the jargon words like "Ai improvement" bs
      Ai this, ai that .. To justified the same hardware with higher price.

      Also the big company keep complaining about ewaste but they're the one that consistently releasing the same hardware with incremental improvement. Which added to ewaste every year. Samsung & Apple is perfect example for this bs practise.

And that some Chinese phones only cost a fraction of Samsung flagships that a Chinese brand buyer can replace it 3x in 7 years and still save more money than a Samsung user.

                And oh, some brands like Xiaomi have 4 years updates now btw.

                      Same hardware but...half price ? ;>

                        All they have to do is give the S25+ the AF ultrawide from ultra for breathtaking macro shots.

                          CamoGeko-XDA, 19 Jun 2024Samsungs are always expensive. Thought people would have... moreIn truth Samsung's image processing approach is one of the worst among established brands.
                          Samsung photos look very artificial,oversharpened & leave much to desire.

                          I use S22...almost 1.5 yr old device but still not far behind from S24 in camera performance as camera hardware is basically the same,just some software upgrades.

                          It's images are just good enough for price(but far behind similarly priced oppo,vivo,google,xiaomi)

                          While on phone screen/social media images look pleasing but after magnification,you start to see features of heavy processing & poor detail/noise handling.
                          Main cam images are heavily stretched at corners, after a point noise increase rapidly in low light & images lose most of their fine details, 1:1 magnification looks lacking & kind of smudged, sky is excessively blue.
                          Also one particular finding...using 3X telephoto zooming at Moon,upto 9.9X images looks blurry,not so good but at 10X images suddenly become significantly focused,clear with right exposure....maybe software tuning or maybe case of Samung faking moon shot....don't know for sure.

                            Can't believe Sammy is so arrogant. So basically the same sensors since S22 which are garbage by today's flagship standards

                                  Since most camera hardware is old now, It feels stupid that they discriminate on camera hardware on mid range & low range phones. It does not cost them that much R&D costs, components are cheap too when manufactured at scale. The camera in S22 should already be in A & M Series but no.

                                  Camera should no longer be deciding factor between low-mid-high range. It is essential hardware and today even slow CPUs support the flagship camera hardware just fine.

                                    Taking an overview of the last decade of smartphone innovation, I guess we are nearing the hardware stagnation yet again. This should be compared similarly to how Nokia could not figure better ways people will need more CPU & RAM, randomly stagnated around their tiny RAM thinking it was enough, and could not grasp what was coming (iOS & Android) due to their inflated sales confidence & preoccupation with Symbian.

                                    If I am to give innovation idea to Samsung, they should borrow the below ideas from Apple's old playbook:
                                    phone = primary camera, communication
                                    phone ≠ video watching, gaming
                                    example: Pixel 4a, 6a, 7a, 8a, display within 5.8" range.

                                    tablet = gaming, taking notes, ideas, scratchpad drawing, watching videos on-the-go, video calling, social media
                                    tablet ≠ rear camera
                                    example: iPad Mini, display within 9" range.

                                    laptop = everything else
                                    display around 16"

                                    These 3 devices make the most sense for most people. Of course this does not apply to requirements of every single person (some prefer larger than hand phones) but the above Apple setup is common sense. Large phone displays used to be "innovation" topic, not now though. Also by merging all things in phone, it has cannibalized tablet sales for Samsung & other Android makers, not for Apple. There is fixed display size for each usable role, and Apple does it best.

The apochromatically corrected zoom lens optics align green, blue, and red colors into the same focus plane which should translate to improved clarity and less fringing at contrast edges. The new floating periscope module features an f/2.57 aperture and 100mm equivalent focal length with 4.3x optical and up to 100x digital zoom. This is arguably the camera we're most excited about."
