Only the Galaxy S25 Ultra will get a camera upgrade, S25 and S25+ to retain the same hardware

Looks like they're trying to really take over Apple in "innovation". Those sensors were already ageing and had issues on the S23, keeping them for another 2 years is just ridiculous.

    Since the hardware inside the S24 is almost the same as the S22, we could call the S25 the S22 (2025 Edition), and likewise we could call the S25+ the S22+ (2025 Edition).

      Just name it S24 2025 not S25. Because there is no significant upgrade.

        So the lower models will actually only be a soc upgrade in Scandinavia. Everything else stays s24.

LG Innotek's variable telephoto design should hopefully become more commonplace soon, and I wonder if the reason why it hasn't yet is because Sony might have signed an exclusivity deal with them, since who would otherwise buy Sony phones if the variable telephoto was commonplace, outside of the small number of consumers who will buy it because they can't live without a 3.5mm headphone jack and a microSD card slot? I myself hate that both of those things aren't on phones anymore, but I just use adapters instead, and most people who feel the same do the same thing as me anyway.

            So the Ultra will have the exact same main cam, but will only get an improved 3x and ultrawide. While not a bad upgrade, it's the main cam that needs improvement as well, as it's the most important one.

              Exactly what I said. The only upgrade will be the SoC. Everything else will be the same to save cost.

                  The economy is f'd.. this shouldn't be a surprise.. samsung apparently using qualcomm across its entire s series spite its price hike seems less and less likely

                      They have only one flaghip phone (Ultra).
                      Their regular S series is just a glorified A series phone like A54. And their foldable is for experiment purpose (now available for trials on humans).

                      They got the OS from Google and SoC is from Qualcomm, they are copying rest from Apple. (They even stopped designing their phones. Almost all of them have generic 3 camera circles on the back)

                              Ridiculous. Not only are those upgrades overdue, they're not even good enough anymore. The 3× telephoto needs to use a 78mm focal length, become a periscope for all three models, have true telemacro capabilities (though Samsung is actually already fairly good here) and should use a Sony LYT-600; the ultrawide should also use a Sony LYT-600 for all three models and have macro capabilities in all three variants, not just the Ultra model; and the selfie camera should use a Samsung ISOCELL JN1 for all three models. The S25 and S25+ should also get the Samsung ISOCELL GNK paired with a 26mm focal length and 3-step variable focal aperture (f/1.4+f/1.7+f/1.9) for their main camera, as well as 1×1 ToF Laser AF; and the S25 Ultra should get a modernised version of the Samsung GN2 (basically with all the feature sets of the Samsung ISOCELL HP2X but 50MP and larger sensor size) paired with a 26mm focal length and ten-step variable focal aperture from f/1.4-f/4.0, as well as 8×8 dToF Laser AF. The 5× periscope should also have an f/2.8 focal aperture and a 130mm focal length.

                              Apart from that, the S25 and S25+ should also get Gorilla Glass Armour, have 12GB of RAM and come in 256GB and 512GB variants, with both using UFS 4.1 storage. The S25 Ultra should have three variants, two with 16GB of RAM and one with 24GB of RAM, and come with 512GB, 1TB and 2TB of UFS 4.1 storage respectively.

                                  This is just ridiculous, a company can get away with 4 generations max of the same hardware, even that is maybe too much. Even this year's S line had only minor upgrades over last year, they resorted to the useless AI stuff to make it look like there was an upgrade. Now that they did that, what exactly would the s25 bring except the newest processor?

Seriously what are you on about? Literally everyone complained that the sensor wasn't being changed and everyone was happy when they changed with the 6. Even Google knows that after 4 years the main cam hardware can be considered midrange and rightfully made the Pixel 5 way cheaper.

                                        Scamsung won't do that tho. The IQOO 12 has the same size sensor as the S24 Ultra and so does the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra, YIKES.
