          Launching earlier at least lets them be compared against last year's flagships. Launching later instantly makes them look worse because SD8 g4 phones will be out around the same time.

          This way they can still pretend to be flagships. If they launched in Oct/Nov they are obviously midrange phones.

            Smart move. Pixel's launched way to late in the year.

Because it run smoothly for long time. Google software with snapdragon processors would be good combination.

                        I would guess that Google will announce it first and then put it on sale for the general public later, just like Sony is currently doing with their smartphones.

                              Gooogol-plex, 25 Jun 2024What modem?The Samsung modem used in all the Tensor chipsets thus far. The 9 series phones may be the last ones to use a Samsung modem. Seeing as how Google doesn't make their own modem, with the 10 series phones next year, it's very likely they'll go with a Qualcomm modem for the TSMC made Tensor G5 chipset.

                                They should be doing this going forward. No more releasing it late in the year when next-gen SoC phones are around the corner.

                                        They should either release the Pixel 9a now alongside the rest of the lineup or just forget about it altogether, as what has historically happened is that the regular Pixel is too similarly specced and too similarly priced that the A series phone becomes totally redundant.
