I am actually very interested in the Ultra but I still dont trust the reliability of foldable phones. Will probably pick up the Pixel 9 pro or OnePlus 13.

Even if I had the money to but this I wouldn't. Even though this is amazing tech but I don't want to charge my phone daily and have less features than a £500 phone.
Battery life for me is important and I'm so old school I still miss the days where dumb phones would last weeks and the battery wouldn't die. The moto g30 had one week battery life. Should have never got rid of it!

no motorola flip phone unless they prove to bring a new durable hinge. razr40 could last only 45k folds (400k advertised) where galaxy flip5 could last 225k folds. motorola is too fragile to consider.

Yes, they make sense before smartphones. They made dumb phones smaller, slimmer.
But nowadays, our phone's usability is primarily defined by the size of our displays. So a flip phone simply dont make sense. It isn't practical. Need to send a message, open that flip. Need to browse? open that flip. The closed-flip form is simply USELESS. It is just an extra step for doing anything.

Will someone blame foldables for using 22:9 ratio as they were bashing Sony for 21:9??
Or for 1080p as latest Xperia? This one is more expensive.
I don't understand this double standards.

Anonymous, 30 Jun 2024Rather have 3x or 5x zoom (I know moto has 2x) than ultrawi... moreNah, panorama is severely distorted. And it's not like it's an 8mp one. A 13mp one would do.

Darth Caesium, 30 Jun 2024They should've used a Sony LYT-700C (like they did on ... moreI'm completely disappointed about the cameras of foldables. Many compromises and a higher price tag, just for a hinge.

Enzo, 30 Jun 2024No. Probably bcs they aren't official in my region. Al... moreThe rate of screen failures of Samsung's foldables is much lower than other brands. It's just that Samsung sold much higher volume than others and you hear complaints from their users more often.
In fact 2 years ago I bought second-hand Fold 3 and I have no issues with it, that the screen protector peeling, with is cheap and easy to replace. And I dont baby my phones.

Not really. The Razr was nice when it still had the chin, but now it's lost that retro uniqueness. If I'm getting a foldable, it would have to look much more prettier.

That RAZR is truly disappointing - Since January users have to open the phone to use Google Assistant, and Moto is not even committing to fix this critical user-function, despite still advertising that Assistant can be used with the phone closed. It is a serious defect for a phone that promotes usability when closed. The Lenovo/Moto/RAZR support/discussion board shows how little Moto is taking any responsibility of a broken feature Moto specifically promotes. Moto RAZR... outrageous you have to open the phone to use Google Assistant, awkward, not as advertised, more wear on the hinge and screen fold... since Jan '24 - still that way in June. Great idea, but someone dropped the ball on this critical function.

mid range specced foldables are not for everyone. You could even pay me to use one, I wouldn't. Its just such downgrade compared to bar flagship...
At least they make someone happy... I'm sad tho, biggest brains of such companies cannot make a flagship fold...

These phones are awesome, if I wouldn't be using the bookstyle foldable, the ultra would definitely be my purchase, but I don't prefer a flip phone. I'm waiting for Motorola to bring a book foldable, I think it would be a banger
