If they'd actually do that, Samsung would go for 65W charging and claim that they somehow found a way to make super fast charging safe all of a sudden.

Anonymous, 10 Jul 2024But if they did 80W wired you‘d demand 120W wired. Diminish... moreHonestly, 80-120W is great, anything more than that devolves into more power for very little in the way of tangible gains. I don't care about charging capabilities above 120W, and that's something that Apple could reserve for another phone in 3 years' time, it wouldn't bother me.
Also, if OnePlus can do 100W wired out of a 6,100mAh battery that is also very thin, then I don't think Apple should have any trouble doing the same. After all, Apple has the best access to supply chains in the world, so I'm sure they could strike a good deal with CATL in the way that Oppo and OnePlus are doing for silicon-carbon batteries.

Darth Caesium, 10 Jul 2024How about Apple sticks their head out of their ass and give... moreBut if they did 80W wired you‘d demand 120W wired. Diminishing returns and all. And you need a big charger to actually utilize that capability. I‘m not entirely opposed but I‘d be very careful with anything battery related because it can get heavy very quickly and that is a big downside on a handheld device. It‘s also true to a lesser extend to cameras (see Galaxy S4 Zoom and Galaxy K Zoom)

Anonymous, 10 Jul 2024If they all upgrades right away, they will have nothing to ... moreThey would do it though if the competition forced them to. There just isn't any meaningful competition outside of countries like India and China, which is why THEY get the best devices. There is also lots of competition in the very low-end segment in many parts of Africa and the Middle East, which is why players like Tecno dominate the market in such places.

Darth Caesium, 10 Jul 2024How about Apple sticks their head out of their ass and give... moreif they are charging 70$ for the 20w brick, how much do you they'll be charging their victims? i'd guess at least 150$ for the 80w brick, even tho it's a type c charger, they'll manage to convince their victims that only theirs is the best one and they should stay away from others.

Dimtons, 10 Jul 202450W wireless! You want them to give you an oven ?
Remem... more50W wireless has been done before by many brands, and it isn't as hot as you think it is. It's all in the implementation, and Apple obviously can't be bothered to do it because it costs them too much for something not enough customers really understand how great it is.
EDIT: If you meant that sarcastically, then that went over my head.

Remember when they couldn't "engineer" 8W wireless charging because it was getting too hot ? While oppo at the same time back then where demonstrating 120W charging

Samsung's 45W charging is even worse, it's basically not even faster than 25W charging. How?!

How about Apple sticks their head out of their ass and gives 80W wired charging and 50W wireless, at the very least? What they're doing here is baby steps, and they are 8 of those steps behind OEMs that are not called Samsung or Google.
