Everyone else is just betting on better specs for more competitive pricing, but not HMD. HMD is all about sustainabillity.

Of course this principle is not going to be well recieved in mainstream. Because majority of mainstrem don't care about ecology or sustainabillity, they just want to beat up their phone in games so they can buy a new phone after 2 years because they killed it with prolonged gaming sessions.

Yes. People don't even need a computer anymore, not talkimg about just gaming, people do everything on their phone. Will the phone with users habits like those last a couple of years and be ready for updates? I doubt. Not just this phone, but every phone that came out from HMD. They are betting on something completley niche in this stage. I salute them for that, as they bring something different to the market of overflooding same phones. I think the more options we have the better and HMD is giving is another option.

I was a big fan of OG Nokia, but unfortunatelly after HMD showed up they didn't buy me with their sustainabilty marketing. For me, this company don't have anything in common with OG Nokia except the old and still pretty famous logo they used and some same people working for OG Nokia. I really wanted to give them a chance, but their products were so off of what i got used to when i was buying OG Nokia phones that they really had no chance with me. I know i can't be the only one thinking this way.

    Conclusion: Fairphone is a garbage phone and only used by minuscule number of people (probably fewer than 10 people worldwide). End of story.

            Chipset is not the best with even Snapdragon 855 beating it in GPU.

            7+ Gen 3, 7+Gen 2 or even 7 Gen 3 would've been so cool. Rest, this repairability and options trend is good.

                For $499 you can buy the Pixel 8a with industry-leading cameras, 7 years of software updates, and a compact design. I guess the HMD Skyline has things going for it like a microSD slot, headphone jack, and repairability. I don't think the HMD Skyline is horrible but the Pixel 8a is simply the best cellphone you can buy for $499, especially if you hate bricks.

                                I hope they'd follow the same strategy, considering that every brand is skipping on including accessories in their respective boxes.

                                  To have features that collect your body info and when hacked then can be used to harm you.

                                  I prefer the so called less safe password or fallow the dots for screen lock and i dont hold and link anything with my phone like banking and so on.

In 5 years with all the updates it be already slow as heck to use.
                                    Never mind that you get better hardware from other brands including Samsung and Apple that also have 5 years of software support or in samsung case a bit longer then 5 years.

                                    These phones at least wont get slow in 5 years with all the updates. Android gets larger and more complicated in time so running it on old hardware is not so good especially when the old hardware is just a middle class hardware and not the best what you get from the release date.

                                    For 600 euro you can get S23 that still have 3 OS updateds and 4 years of security and have enough hardware to last you for as long as the Fairphone as apps wont lose the support. And also wont slow down like with Fairphone that is like 1 third of the performance of S23

                                      Pricing is outrageous. Someone at HMD better remember that the Nokia tax should be gone now.
