    i do like this a lot, i went for - not at that price - because that is where i am at. if it came down to £300 i would be buying for sure. as it has a snap soc the update cycle doesn't bother me much so long as i can unlock the bootloader as it is will be possible to install lineage or other custom rom after the official cycle ends.

      I voted "None of the above".

      Let me explain: Even in a decent midranger, I expect 7+ Gen 2, 7+ Gen 3 or even 7 Gen 3.
      This 7s Gen2 is even weaker than the 5 year Snapdragon 855 (in LG G8x) I'm replacing it with (GPU wise).

      Although, I appreciate the concept 100%, and I want more phones on this concept.

                    Reading a paperspec sheet IS indicative of real life performance. You seriously aren't suggesting that HMD with 7sG2 will be faster than vivo with 8G2, are you?
                    And yes, CPU is indeed everything. An iPhone with SD215 is 🗑. Lol, even the software is entirely dependent on CPU, be it the smoothness, app launching time, or anything else. Even image processing is dependent on the CPU.
                    So yeah, kindly elaborate what exactly you think you were referring to "everything"?

                        It's probably the wireless charging, but yeah I'd rather sacrifice wireless charging for a chipset that gonna makes my phone last longer.

I do have hopes in Kryo as I have seen how good Snapdragon Elite X Series has been performing on laptops. And I hope you guys know what happened when Snapdragon used Kryo in 460 from 439. I do recommend to wait for at least 4 months cuz 8 Gen 4 will need optimisation from phone companies cuz 4.0+ GHz is still new for phones and will lead to battery drain & heating issues while new. I am saying this cuz when 8 Gen 4 was run on Antutu, it saw score decreased to 1.7M cuz of throttling. So, you can expect phone companies getting problems earlier.

                              High refresh rate screen support? It depends on your CPU.
                              High MP and good ISP support? It depends on your CPU.
                              How much RAM did your phone motherboard support? It depends on your CPU.
                              How smooth your phone is besides the optimisation? It depends on your CPU.
                              How long can your phone stay smooth? It depends on your CPU.
                              Does your phone supports UFS or just eMMC? It depends on your CPU.
                              etc.
                              I'm not saying that other phone components doesn't matter. But CPU is surely play the biggest role on your phone.

                                Minu, 21 Jul 2024"Bad" phones are simply low ends.I mean I wouldn't call it bad if it's extremely cheap, or if someone gives it to you for free. And most of the cheapest phone nowadays are more than enough for chatting and scrolling on social media.
