Motorola have completely abandoned their customer base and tried to compete with the big brands specifically when it comes to their budget nad mid range phones.
Their cpu choice, pricing and removal of features has completely failed as you can spend £150 to £200 less and get another brand with equivalent and sometimes if not better specs.
This phone is having an identity crisis or imposter syndrome as its acting acting like a flagship when it's actually a midranger

Extremely disappointing, given that their phones are extremely flimsy.

How it is a step back? 7s Gen 2 is similar to 6 gen 1 , it's basically the slightly overclocked version of 6 Gen 1. While 7 gen 1 is faster in terms of CPU and GPU performance than the 7s gen 2.

You seem to be a bit confused here with the comparison to old flagship 8xx series, but the standard 7gen1 is 2.4ghz and 7gen1 AE is 2.5ghz, 0.1ghz overclock is absolute comedy.
And this was released when Qualcomm was already using the + branding on 8 and 7, they know that the accelerated version is not worthy of the +
