Seriously who buys this crap, cameras are crap, chipset is crap, and it cost arm and leg, people really have no clue what are the good devices means these days, just buy blindly based on brands name 😊

Hmm, 02 Aug 2024Tell me which spec in Pixel 9 Pro isn't "top"... moreProcessor is 2-3 years behind, battery life is subpar, poor cellular reception, these things google does worse than Chinese midrangers.
Camera, Google's lead is gone, Samsung, Xiaomi and Oneplus more or less caught up on camera software as well as having better camera hardware.
Pixel's software? Nexus'is android ASOP were smooth and fast, Google's pixel implementation were a mess for years, pixel have the most unstable of android.
Now onto AI yeah, the Tensor can't run local models as well as other flagships, if Google was serious about AI, having a top line chip is a must, something competitive with snapdragon 8gen3 plus a substantially better NPU packed with 24GB ram starting, that's what Google would do if it actually cared about AI because those models take a lot of ram to use locally.
The fact it's being beaten by phones like Poco F6 while selling $1k for its top model, just scamming consumers.

I don't think anyone is surprised that a USD 2.1 trillion company that has never made a competitive SoC fails to even compete with last-gen SoCs from other makers. Google bets too much on its half-baked software prowess and it shows. The Nexus lineup was at least affordable, unlike the one trick pony that the Pixel is with its computational photography.
Unfortunately people are so desperate for a competitor now that they buy sub-par phones at flagship prices.

It doesn't matter if Snapdragon CPU gets slightly higher score in some synthetic benchmark. All common apps that people use every day already work crazy fast even on flagship phones from 5 years ago. Now it's all about best cameras, AI and software. And no one can match Google, except maybe Apple.

Battery life was basically THE thing preventing me from buying Pixel 7&8.
