I had a girlfriend who was a professional photographer and she told me, that it's better to use smaller cards because it something goes wrong with the card, or gets lost you won't lose as many photos. But now it you are shooting 4K videos that are 15 to 30 minutes long you might need 1T.

Cpt.Power, 02 Aug 2024Buy something like A15 you can. Or get S24 Ultra with 1TB... moreHow much bucks it'll cost, currently lots of US citizens are already debt ridden with thoughtless expensive purchases & no one need super-fast ufs 4 storage just to consume media assuming they are not watching 4k on smartphone because we were happy with full HD video on 13 inch laptop so it's more than enough to consume it even on 7 inch smartphone & microsd cards serves well for fullHD video's if encoded efficiently. above all i don't know how many times UFS 4 can be rewritten before its performance take hit, we can just replace microsd card if needed.

Anonymous, 01 Aug 2024This man would happily give up his ability to use harddrive... moreI didn't have internet for a week, couldn't call the provider either. It was ringing but no answer.
Since then, I don't rely anything other than my stuff stored on my pc with a back up on an external drive.
Plus, cloud owners might say we are closing down. What are they going to do then?

Snapdragon 695 hater, 01 Aug 2024This is what annoys me the most. We've hit peak SD car... moreBro buy cloud storage or phone with bigger memory and storage problem solved.
Even old UFS 2.0 is way faster than theses cards.
Putting useless card on a formula one speedy phone have zero sense.
Like you swap motor from said formula for something like Daewoo Tyco had.
You cant be serious.
Same goes for jacks.
For said water resistance and more space form more important goodies in phone jack and all wires which it require is useless to have in phone.

Darth Caesium, 01 Aug 2024And yet, they won't put microSD card slots in their phones. For what???
If even an UFS 2.0 is way faster.
SD cards are useless on modern phones.
Like you would drive a ferrari with a motor from skoda or peugeot 206 for example.
Are you okay mate???

Anonymous, 02 Aug 2024If you mainly download games and don't have a very fas... moreAgreed. However, SSDs above 1 TB are quite costly and past the point of diminishing returns imo. And HDDs are slow so that's why I thought 1 TB was enough. Like at that point buying physical copies should be the way to go.
And I have slow internet myself yet I download games semi regularly. What I'm saying is, you don't NEED more than 1 TB. Like, wouldn't it be best to NOT delete big games every time? Why not think of it as an opportunity cost, have some games, play them and when you wanna play the next one just uninstall the one you play the least to make space. That's what me, my friends and relatives have been doing for more than a decade.

Better invest in a NAS..
Then transfer your data wirelessly. sd card is useless, once phones have no more slots.

Grezy, 02 Aug 2024$400 Android can get 512gb and even 1Tb, such as Redmi... moreNot everyone lives like that lol. Two phones? And how do you pocket a laptop? The only time laptop gets used is when gaming with Steam games or emulators that cannot be used on the phones.
