EVERY TV was subpar then by your standards, that's because not many TVs had Mini-LED before and WOLED didn't have a proper competitor. So in that case all you could do is give a good VA panel (which they did), good port selection (which they did) and good enough processing (which they also had given).
Ok, my opinion of Samsung is inflated. Take a look at Apple then. Apple also makes speakers. They might not be the best there but aren't they respected nonetheless? What is even your point? Just because a company has a different branch that isn't as popular doesn't mean it's bad. Take a look at Sony, it owns Playstation, so many cameras, so many speakers, so many amazing TVs, they MAKE the industry standard monitors and also own studios for movies and song. They have a bad name in the mobile phone market. Are they mediocre?
And again, it's about pride. Money is one thing but if you start stealing to get that money why bother even running a business? You got up on your own two feet by getting ideas from everyone but also making your own. Now you're just stealing. What respectful thing is there about that? I personally would've dissolved my business, it'd have been too shameful.

Samsung is a huge conglomerate, but people don't view Samsung as a high-end brand. Actually, many people view Samsung as a somewhat mediocre or even inferior brand. As for TVs, Samsung TVs had been subpar for a very long time. It's only recently that Samsung released high-quality QD-OLED TVs. Samsung have some expensive products, but many companies also do. It's nothing special. For example, Samsung foldable phones are expensive, but foldable phones of other companies are also expensive.
Hypothetically, if I'm in charge of a huge conglomerate, I'll focus on financial and the overall vision and direction. I won't bother with details such as design of some products of some subsidiary companies/divisions. That's the job of the management of those subsidiary companies/divisions.

Too many haters here. Yes Samsung isn't perfect. But no any brand is better. Apple is for showing off not for enjoying the way you want. While Samsung phones are joy to use unless it is very low end.
