Report: Samsung's top boss angry at the mobile division for copying Apple

I watched a video the other day where a Samsung repair technician purposely damaged a customer's Samsung TV with a knife in order to void their warranty, and everything was caught by the security camera. It was not an isolated case, as it happened to multiple customers. Yet there are still zealot fools out here who shamelessly defend this brand.

Also, OneUI 6 has the split feature already

Anonymous, 02 Aug 2024Right. This is strange because high-level executives of con... moreThere's something known as pride. Samsung had been innovating for a long time. They make AMOLED displays nearly every OLED phone uses, they make good sensors and at one point made the largest sensor available the GN2 and let's just forget the mobile division.
Samsung owns Harman, this is a very prestigious company and is basically an audio jesus of the world. They own so many companies that create speakers for BMW, Lexus, etc. Bang & Olufsen sells 50-60k USD speakers and people are still fine with it. JBL and Bang & Olufsen make outlandish and beautiful speakers. And then there's their display team and TV team. They make some of the best looking and best selling TVs and their panels are used in some of the best, if not THE BEST, TVs.
When you're in charge of such a big operation and design is such an important thing for your company, would you not get mad if your main department started copying others? Take a look at Samsung's Q series and S series TVs and see how good they look, take a look at how Bang & Olufsen speakers look. You'll understand. Lamborghini, Ferrari, even Toyota have pride in their work, they don't usually just go and nab ideas from the top company. You won't understand what pride in one's work means ig so just ignore this.

It is actually a greate decision made by Samsung mobile division. 👍
Galaxy Watch Ultra is the first Samsung watch that has exact same shape as OneUI icon.
If anyone want to know the copycat of Apple watch, go search Huawei Watch Fit 3. 🤣🤭

I think TM Roh did okay for the mobile division, apart from the quality control issues, and some other things, the design isn't even part of it, the new designs come with alot of new upgrades all that ks to the new form factor, and the older form factor wouldn't have been able to cut it to get the features they want in the new products

I understand the cause he's mad at because samsung has expensive R&D and has their own design language.
it's about pride to stand out among the others android phone especially chinese brands whom explicitly imitating apple design from it's 3 big hole camera like on the new realme gt/poco f series to the smartwatch like huawei watch fit 3
Hopefully they will release their different design soon to avoid this image.

Anonymous, 02 Aug 2024Exactly. Sensationalist papers shockingly esixt in South Ko... moreExactly. Sensationalist papers shockingly exist in South Korea, too. Who would have thunk.
The reason the GW7U was approved is because it looks like a smartwatch, with a unique design. Regarding the three points Apple apologists claim were Apple innovations:
1: Ultra is a long used moniker on Samsung devices. The Galaxy S Ultras existed years before Apple stole it and it had been used for over a decade before that on Samsung devices.
2: The orange strap was used first time on a Samsung smartwatch way back in 2014. Long before Apple even had a smartwatch and ages before Apple stole the colour on their own watches.
3: The square shape was used by Samsung years before Apple even had a smartwatch. Samsung essentially switched to a round watchface to differentiate themselves from the serial-copycat Apple. The Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra retains the round watchface and looks nothing like an Apple watch.
IF this "outrage" from the Samsung CEO is real. That CEO should reconsider their allegiance to the corporation they run and flip off.

jiyen235, 02 Aug 2024He's the boss of the whole Samsung corporation. If he ... moreRight. This is strange because high-level executives of conglomerates shouldn't be concerned with product design. Their jobs should be primarily about financial and operation management: make sure that all subsidiary companies/divisions have sufficient funds to efficiently operate.
