AnonD-152638, 17 Jul 2013Acually both the Honami and the 1020 has image processors, ... moreActually, no, the 1020 has no dedicated imaging chip. Nokia rewrote part of the imaging SW for the Snapdragon S4 themselves. http://www.anandtech.com/show/7142/some-thoughts-about-the-lumia-1020-camera-system

AnonD-152638, 17 Jul 2013Acually both the Honami and the 1020 has image processors, ... moreEverything is getting better and better in mobiles like 1080p screen, quad core cpu going upto 2.3 ghz,big cameras like 41mp and 20mp cybershot cam, dont you think video recording in mobiles also needs to be better.1080p recording was latest tech for mobiles in 2011 and now its even available in low end mid range devices...youtube also supports 4k videos at full frame..

AnonD-45877, 17 Jul 2013dude, Nokia 808 itself can take 4K videos, Google it, you'l... moreNo no no,you are wrong.. nokia 808 camera has tendency to record 4k video theoretically not practicaly. Because its specifications are not enough to decode 4k resolution video and same is the case with Lumia 1020. It is only possible when nokia use s800 chipset. Check this link before comment http://www.digitallifeplus.com/3248/20120413_nokia-pure-view-4k-video/

why produsen don't make a phone with HDdisplay but the screen is not larger than 4,5inch, i think 5" is too big & not comfort on my hand ( because i'm asian and little ). Why don't improve the audio system & sound quality, and why the produsen always makes the customers confuse and Prioritize the new phone rather than the necessities of life. make people live lavishly . . Ups' I'm so sorry to you " the Producers "

AnonD-116639, 17 Jul 2013Lolllzz.. "L1020 records 8k video and then oversample ... moreAcually both the Honami and the 1020 has image processors, so it's not up to the CPU+GPU to handle it.
Thus it doesnt matter if the CPU+GPU does not support 4K or 38MP image capture, the image processor will deal with that.
Not saying that the Lumia 1020 will get a 4K capture mode, but you should at least know that it's not the technical limitations of the CPU+GPU that is the hindrance.
And since most wont have 4K TV's and monitors for a while 4K is just a gimmick... beside the compression will probably be awfull... Sonys own projetor does an outstanding work upscaling 1080p videos from blurays, and you would probably get a better picture with that projector with a high bit rate 1080p video than with what will come out of this mobile in 4K mode. Don't expect the videos to have a pixel resolution anywhere near 4K with video compression, sure it will offer higher resolution than a 1080p videos from most mobiles, but only slightly higher and with most of the resolution will only be noise... So you would much rather have an almost noise free 1080p video than can be upscaled than a 4K noisy video so you will see all that noise when watched on a 4K monitor.

AnonD-125195, 17 Jul 2013So you like 1080p TV better than a 8k TV because the 1080p ... moreLolllzz.. "L1020 records 8k video and then oversample it in 1080p video ???? The cpu and gpu in lumia 1020 is a year old and doesn't support above 1080p video.. only snapdragon 800 chipset can record 4k videos and nokia will use this in 2015. Sony i1 honami will be first one with 4k video recording.

Carlos, 17 Jul 2013It will be able to record 4k video recording... but will it... moreWhy would you need higher than 8MP for 16:9?
The sensor is not a multi crop sensor, so 16:9 is simply cropped out of the full image sensor.
4k televisions/Monitors are 8MP, so for the amateur that will be the maximum resolution they need.
And any entusiast would use the full 20MP resolution and crop to his/her likes afterwards.

It will be able to record 4k video recording... but will it be able to show those recordings in that quality? And the still pictures... Only 8 megas for 16:9? That's something that Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One are also able to do. SoRRy SoNy...
