Not gonna lie, that battery with 45W fast charging is making the 9 Pro (smaller) a pretty decent phone.
I do agree with everyone here though: 128GB version should NOT exist on either of the Pro models. 7 years of support later, there's barely any storage left over for it with how big apps are becoming.

I would've really liked to upgrade my Pixel 8 256GB to the Pixel 9 Pro 512GB but the price increase just isn't justifiable.
I bought my pixel 8 for $610 (including taxes and shipping) in November last year. Unless I can get a 512GB Pixel 9 Pro for between $799 - $899 I won't even bother.

When the pixel 9a comes out it's going to be £550 to £600 and people will accept it as the norm if they haven't already. This is insanity!

Pixel 9 pro is the only phone among the 9 series which deserves a consideration. And although the price is on the higher side, I don't think it is a bad deal (especially for those who are interested in Gemini Advanced as you get 1 year free subscription worth $240). But they should have straighaway given 256GB for the base price ($999) rather than this 'free-upgrade' shenanigan.
Pixel 9 at $799 makes absolutely no sense given that you don't even get the free Gemini Advanced (or is it 6 month subscription, there are conflicting reports). And you can't even use the full suite of AI features like Gemini live. Given that Pixel 8 is available at $500-550, it's difficult to see any logic for Pixel 9.
Pixel 9 Pro XL is okay, but if you don't need Gemini Advanced, it's better to go for Pixel 8 Pro. You get it much cheaper, plus you get a better ultrawide camera.
And in the design department, Pixel 9 series is actually a downgrade in my view.

There is no reason to call it 'Compact' @gsmarena. That is Standard size.
Galaxy S24, iPhone 15 & 15 Pro are the same size too. iPhone mini & Galaxy S10e was the TRUE 'Compact'.
I understand why you want to indicate 'compactness' vs last years' Pixel 8 Pro, however Google is too late to the party when iPhone 15 Pro has been in Standard size for over a decade. All it indicates is extra telephoto anyways.

Small/Compact: 145 x 65
Standard: 150 x 70
Large: 156 x 74
Huge: 162 x 78

Pixel 9 Pro seems like the best of the bunch. The only thing 9 Pro XL's got over Pixel 9 Pro is bigger screen, bigger battery (the autonomy will be negated by the increased screen size anyway), within margin of error faster wired charging. So screen size, all in all.
But Pixel 10 is the way to go with rumored Snapdragon SoC
