Leaked slide reveals that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is a 3nm chip with an Oryon CPU

There will be two versions, SM8750 and SM8750P. The "P" presumably stands for "performance".

    "The “Low-Power AI” (LPAI) subsystem is interesting – it’s intended for always-on uses including audio, camera and sensor tracking."

    This translates to always-on spying hardware function and NO privacy.

                              thank you mediatek for continuing to push qualcomm to get better. This is healthy competition, everyone wins. If Qualcomm were to raise prices on their chips and result in higher phone prices, people can easily switch to Mediatek phones without any worries. Win-win, unless you're a fanboy and you NEED a certain product that just happens to have a Qualcomm chip then you do you.

                              oh and always on AI, yikes. That sounds like more data collection for generative AI. People over here like to act all high and mighty but I'm sure they're gonna end up agreeing to all terms and conditions blindly (just like every normal person, even I do that) and then send the data for generative AI or something. They already take our data to advertise. Taking data for AI isn't too far off from imagination.

Literally what are you on about? The Switch ports of those games is easier/more justifiable cus Switch is a console and more people are likely to pay for a game on a console. Nearly no one wants to pay for a mobile game.

                                There's little to no effective demand. Besides, porting to android isn't an easy thing.

                                    idkBg091, 19 Aug 2024Main reason are phones in 2025 coming with bigger batteries... morethat's a bleak way to look at things. Just because the peak performance requires lots of power doesn't mean the phone will use lots of power overall.

                                    Is the A17 Pro inefficient to you? If you do think so, look at the iPhone 15 PM's battery life results and prove me wrong.

                                    I'm being hopeful because it's a better, 3nm process. All that's left to see is how much more efficient it actually is.
