Now please do the same thing on Android manufacturers too. The amount of bloatware on Samsung and Xiaomi/Redmi/Poco phones is maybe 2-3 times bigger than any iPhone bloatware. Which by the way, many iPhone apps could have been uninstalled even before this new law. Majority of Samsung bloatware could not been uninstalled, only disabled. And for many apps, not even disabled.
Is the biggest reason for me why I don't buy Samsung phones anymore. I like One Ui the best, but I dislike their bloatware (biggest from any Android manufacturer) and doubled apps.

And that's the problem with Android phones (except maybe Pixels). One company does the software and another company does the hardware. But the company who does the hardware wants their software in there too, alongside Google's (because why not, is our hardware).

They're just starting with Apple because they're richer and the ones with the more locked down software where there's really no viable workaround.

On Android you can at least disable the apps and sideload ones you like. Neither can be done on iOS (without something more complex like jailbreaking).

we want to be able to install android😎🍏🍏🍏

All this focus on Apple. How about Samsung and other Android makers who install lots of apps some of which cannot be uninstalled. All devices should be free to be used in whatever way the owner chooses and this should also include the ability of all Android devices to have the boot loader unlocked.

outandabout, 23 Aug 2024How is EU authoritarian? In what regards? The "oh so many things" slipped into Chat Control (CSEM scanner proposal), tariffs with the sole purpose of protecting uncompetitive EU companies (even if against international trade), and the many mandates to "steer society in the right way" pretty much defines them as ANYTHING BUT libertarian -- in fact, some of them already show authoritarian traits.
