Not sure why they make a camera-centric phone with a ginormous camera island on its back when the result would always be mediocre once uploaded to social media and an instant messaging app with all the compressions. Everything is going to just sit in the phone gallery at the end of the day for self-impression and for no one to share with. All that is left for people to carry is that blackhole-looking tumor-back design of a phone around.

They're less power hungry, there's a difference. The chips aren't always chugging too much power but to accomplish a similar task, they'll chug more power than a flagship released in the same year. That's why they're less efficient.
Maybe in the past the flagships were less efficient but I just think they were pushed harder. And yeah, midrangers just solved the battery life problem by giving larger batteries. Either no one bought them or manufacturers didn't want the bigger battery of their midrangers taking away customers from their main line phones.

I like using Pro Mode and hardware matters the most in that mode. Auto mode is good enough/competitive and for the price difference you're getting a 7/10 camera instead of 7.5/10. I think that's truly acceptable.

[deleted post]Exactly! They've literally had the same selfie camera since the iPhone 11, with the only difference being that it now has a 24mm focal length instead of 23mm (WOW /s) and has IBIS. That's it. Absolutely disgustingly shameful.
