As is usually the case, the global release will probably be later than that.

Of course it will arrive sooner. There was no r&d. They actually downgraded the phone.

This gigantic circular camera cutout is unsightly to look at. Android really does make some of the ugliest phone designs in the world. At this point, I don't even bother with the specs when it has an ugly looking back. Who would want to hold a phone with that camera on its back?

Anonymous, 27 Aug 2024Again forcing people to pay for more storage than they need... moreThen you use a telephone, or borrow a phone whenever you need one. Do you think p**n or kids stuffs are the main reasons for higher storage? Then you should atleast be 4 years of age to think that. With every app update the data becomes bigger and a company/manufacturer device UI eats about 20% of your storage without even turning on the phone. 128gb becomes 96gb usable or 112gb, 1tb becomes 800+GB usable, but we should keep mute and be happy to get 128gb at an expensive price when some people prolly don't have a PC or laptop they can just transfer anything to if their storage is full. Well if it's only p**n and kids stuffs that your older phone full (cause u might be speaking out of experience) then I see no why you should think it's the same for everyone. I can't stand 128gb storage, not with all files and data.

SShock, 27 Aug 2024Question is, why would you pick Xiaomi for that kind of mon... moreFor the past years (three 🤔) Samsung has had mediocre hardware. I was SERIOUSLY considering the 24Ultra myself, but ... too many compromises for the obvious price 🤷🏻‍♂️.

Anonymous, 27 Aug 2024Again forcing people to pay for more storage than they need... moreWhy people like u always think and assumed one that need more storage means to store adult stuff? Can u respect everyone else's needs?

Although Xiaomi makes phones, tablets and cars, the carbon based batteries can't go in cars this soon! Too many partners l, too many logistics to deal with as their push for electric cars is based on a battery swap principle. I'm not sure they make laptops in nearly the volume that Samsung sells.

Let's hope Samsung jumps on this bandwagon as they will significantly., by sheer sales, reduce the cost

However, silicon-carbon battery tech is expensive, and this time I don't see these batteries reaching mid-rangers in general for quite a while because of that. I think we're going to see a much bigger difference between the battery life of flagships and non-flagships, and the flagships this time around are going to have the better battery life.

Until relatively recently, mid-rangers had the best battery life because they were geared towards better efficiency and had big batteries, while flagships were geared towards performance at the cost of efficiency (not to mention the blunder that was the Snapdragon 810). Low-end phones, meanwhile, had the efficiency but not the big batteries. Now, low-end phones will likely have similar-sized batteries (though Samsung has rocked that trend with its M and F series, and could do so again), but mid-rangers could opt to have slightly larger ones using larger regular lithium ion batteries.

For a cameraphone I think cameras and battery are the most important aspect. It can have a 480p display for all I care, I just want to be able to get nice shots even in difficult conditions and not be limited by the battery. What do you think? Isn't battery essential? Like Xiaomi's AT LEAST on par with others in everything else but they're quite behind in terms of battery life.

I remember when back in the day like phones like Redmi Note 3 and Redmi Note 5 Pro set the standard for battery life cus they had phat cells. Like idk why but my S7 Edge just couldn't last as long as a relative's Redmi Note 3/5 Pro I don't quite remember which one it was

Anonymous, 27 Aug 2024Again forcing people to pay for more storage than they need... morethen make the 128 gb of the 14 ultra cost 800 euros. Your argument is as strong as my 3 year old nephew's ones. I really don't know what you want. Use this energy to actually utilise your brain and think.

Does not matter if phone is $400 or $2000, the 128 and 256 options have obligation to exist.

Not everyone gonna fill phone with children activities like games.
Not everyone keeps p**n on phones.
Not everyone watches movies and other stuff offline to have it downloaded.

Complain about lack of small phones but at same time wants to take away choice from people.

People ask a lot, when Xiaomi has fixed everything since 13U, many people asked for a flat screen, 4K selfie, USB 3.2, now it's all available in 14U.

                          Now another big ask..

Darth Caesium, 27 Aug 2024Yes, I meant 7,500mAh with 100W charging and 7,000mAh with ... moreI mean like, they could experiment with a phone launch in a midranger first to see how people like it and THEN put it in a flagship like afaik most phone companies did that like the Samsung M20 had a 5k mah battery in 2019 and the S20 Ultra had it in 2020 and I think another example would be the Redmi Note 3 having 4k mah battery in 2016 and then Xiaomi putting it in a flagship in the Mi 9 Pro in 2019.

jiyen235, 27 Aug 2024I meant 7500 mah with 120 w and 7000 mah with 100 w? Isn... moreYes, I meant 7,500mAh with 100W charging and 7,000mAh with 120W charging. It's a rumour, but if it doesn't arrive with the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, then I suppose it's likely to arrive with the Xiaomi 16 Ultra instead, or, if there is a mid-generation refresh (since the Xiaomi 15S Pro apparently exists), it could come with that. It's all just speculation, of course, but an extra large battery compared to their competitors' ones that are already larger than last year would be a unique selling point. If nothing else, it makes for an excellent marketing decision to have such a large battery.

Darth Caesium, 27 Aug 2024Nope. A few weeks ago there was a post on this site detaili... moreI meant 7500 mah with 120 w and 7000 mah with 100 w? Isn't it supposed to be the opposite? Like smaller batteries = faster charging for example X100 Pro vs X100 Ultra and Red magic 9 Pro vs Pro+.

Oh and I think this is just an experiment and it's just a rumor. I don't think they're gonna put THAT BIG of a battery in a big flagship with other huge cameras. They might experiment with a midranger or flagship killer. What do you think?

jiyen235, 27 Aug 2024I think you got the battery numbers mixed up, right? My mai... moreNope. A few weeks ago there was a post on this site detailing how Xiaomi was experimenting with both of those sizes I've listed there, of silicon-carbon battery tech.

Darth Caesium, 27 Aug 2024Luckily for you, Xiaomi's going to have either a 7,500... moreI think you got the battery numbers mixed up, right? My main gripe with Xiaomi is the battery. If their battery life is the same as others I'll consider them equal to other phones. If the battery is 7k mah yeowzers it sounds like an amazing deal.

SShock, 27 Aug 2024Question is, why would you pick Xiaomi for that kind of mon... moreIt's not an excuse in my case since I literally don't own phones for that long and since I love tinkering (why I use android) I can just install custom ROMs if I really want something cool and new.

And why would I choose Xiaomi? It's a genuinely good phone. The difference between a flagship and flagship killer is the set of cameras. The S24 Ultra is more in line with a Oneplus 12/IQOO 12 in terms of cameras. You might like getting midrange cameras for flagship money, I don't. Photography is a hobby for me and I've gotten into it with the help of my phones. The 14 Ultra has been getting fast enough updates and they've fixed most of the issues so I'd be fine if the updates fix issues within a year and then become slow. 4 years is plenty of time for me, I'll use the phone for at best 3 years and then go for another phone. I don't feel comfortable with changing batteries by myself OR giving the phone to a random bloke in a repair shop so unless we get replaceable batteries I'm not using phones for more than 2-3 years cus batteries degrade.

You are free to like iPhones and Samsungs but I want value out of the product I get for WHATEVER tasks I will do. And since I'm more concerned with photography than anything else, I'll pay for the higher prices. And I don't support poor business practices, I don't like Samsung, Google or Apple's current business ideology so I won't support them, they're leeching off of customers. If Xiaomi, Vivo or even Oppo does that I'll forget about them too. If all of them do it I'll choose the lesser of all the evils. That's just me being an Asian ig, I have been taught as a kid to look for the most bang for my buck. It doesn't mean I won't pay high prices ofc as you can tell by me paying for such expensive phones that cost more than the best monitors out rn lol
