BATMANN, 02 Sep 2024If redmi truly wants to give us good phones and save costs,... moreSince to dream is free, an updated Redmi Note 10 Pro would be still better adding it a vapor chamber to cool it down, given if overheats easily, and take full advantage of these 120Hz.

The Redmi 14C's 5160mAh battery is impressive! Combine that with the Mediatek chipset and it’s a winner!

BATMANN, 02 Sep 2024If redmi truly wants to give us good phones and save costs,... moregreatly agree with you, been using RN9pro since the release. I had no issue with it and it is still comparable to this new release models

If redmi truly wants to give us good phones and save costs, just release the redmi note 9 pro all over again with the latest software update. This price point doesn't need 120hz, it needs everything the redmi note 9 pro had. Don't even change a single thing, even design, just re release it with Android 14 and 1 year of software update. That'll be so much better than this abomination of a device

The other option is to put a transparent case, but everyone knows those get dirty and turn yellow/brown after time so nobody uses them.

Love that they're making cool looking back designs again instead of normal one tone color.

I swear, it's been years since last time they upgraded their entry level 4G phones.
                - Their Redmi A series always uses those bad 12nm full-Cortex A53 octa core chipset since Redmi 7a. (Glad they at least uses Stock Android since they start putting the "A" in the front. I doubt that 4GB RAM can even handle HyperOS).
                - Redmi 14C uses G81, which actually the same thing as G85 which they used on 12C and 13C, which is a downgrade over 680 that used on 10C.
                - Redmi Note 13 4G uses the same chipset that used on Redmi Note 12 4G, which is a slight improvement over 680 that used on 11 4G or 678 on 10 4G (400MHz clockspeed difference won't mean much bcuz it still uses that ancient Cortex-A73 architecture).

Like, come on, is it THAT hard to just make 2 series of 4G phones and call it a day? The cheapest one uses Unisoc T61x / SD685 + UFS, while the one that a bit more pricier uses G99. Just make 'em cheaper. No need to keep milking ur poor customers.

Anonymous, 31 Aug 2024Waiting for the time they return to form with a snapdragon ... moreThey won't, if they still sold that Redmi Note 4G series which also uses Snapdragon 685.

I get the need for keeping the cost of the device low, but did the SoC had to be this much trash?

I have Redmi 10C since August 2022 and comparing the specifications, this Redmi 14C feels like a downgrade in comparison. In fact, the other Cs - 12C, 13C also feel like a downgrade in comparison.

Snapdragon 680 with UFS 2.2 feels pretty fast. I can't find any meaningful comparison between it and Helio G81 Ultra, but I have a guess this one will have eMMC 5.1 too, which also makes it inferior.

This is weird. My phone is soon going to stop getting updates and while it works as well as when I bought it, I have to think about either flashing a custom ROM after 2025 or buy a new phone, but if the successors are also downgrades, I may have to look elsewhere.

God damn they should stop using those chips like 10 years ago as even if it was from 2020 its still use 10 years old technology inside... buying that phone today is like shooting yourself in foot, behind your knee and you have your head on it...

Bosic012, 31 Aug 2024I don't like the design. The design is lot like Oppo Reno 12F.

I bet camera bump doesn't need to be this big. At very least it doesn't need glass other than right in front of lenses. Popup cameras were criticized for adding weight, but enormous camera bumps probably add just as much.

what's more terrible is the 2 year old redmi 10c (sd680 + ufs 2.2) will still gonna be more faster than this fancy paper weight
