Vasra, 01 Sep 2024Nokia has already denied this. Old news reported late when ... moreIf Nokia doesn't understand how to make use of a licensing contract for consumer products while financially assisting their licensees, they simply wouldn't clutch at straws to become a major player from any possible way. Simple as that.

jiyen235, 01 Sep 2024You twist my words yet again my friend.
"Something ... moreyou use just half of my comment though, 5g ran marketshare =/= ran marketshare, also when that data was taken Samsung had like 2%, no one will bat an eye if Samsung Acquire Nokia networks, if those top 3 Huawei, Nokia and Ericson one acquire another then there will be monopoly issues.
before Nokia merge with siemens then they merge with Alcatel without much issues because their merger was between small players so that they can compete.

"Something as simple as an agreed takeover is far more likely to happen"
I'm sorry if you don't have eyes.
Also, I used YOUR data.
"5G vendor marketshare
-Huawei 24%
-Nokia 22%
-Ericson 22%
-Zte and Samsung less than 10%"
I used your data to make an educated guess that Nokia and Samsung merging would lead to 25%+.
I'm sorry but this is enough brain rot for the rest of the year, I can't understand why someone would go to such lengths to defend a company that's actively trying to harm them. You do you buddy, I'm gonna go grampa mode and use a nokia 3310, the future of smartphones looks bleak and it'd be cus of people defending/supporting shady practices.

Not going to happen, only thing possible is a hostile takeover of full Nokia. That's why Nokia buying its own stocks for last 12 months.
Nokia R&D for Mobile Network division is spread mostly across Finland, Poland, USA and China with few groups in France, Romania and India.

Vasra, 01 Sep 2024Nokia has already denied this. Old news reported late when ... moreI saw those denial headlines, but then read what they actually said and... I wouldn't call that very carefully crafted statement a denial. I can see how anyone who really wants this to not be true could interpret it that way, but that is far from the one and only interpretation of that statement -- they can fulfill those commitments to the future while still selling the division to Samsung (or anyone else), and that decision is very much in the hands of the shareholders/board, not something that requires an "internal project" until the sale is seen as final between the two parties.

Hemedans, 01 Sep 20241. By what evidence Samsung will be no 1? They don't e... moreI'm assuming they merge with Nokia so Nokia+Samsung = 22% of nokia + whatever Samsung has which leads to higher market share.
Also, just cus they're buying one part doesn't mean they can't do anything else with the other divisions. These divisions are always "seemingly" separate but look at BBK and Vivo/Oppo/Oneplus. BBK is no more but they all have similar stuff in them.
Quit acting childish and positive. The business world is cruel and hostile takeovers do happen. Something as simple as an agreed takeover is far more likely to happen.

Anonymous, 01 Sep 2024Since when has anyone in the sammy community says this? The... moreAre we sure we're both talking about the same place? Who do you mean "They"?
Everywhere online people are defending Samsung in reviews and comments.
But most importantly, stuff like Sammobile and Samsung's community/forum like in Reddit are all defending them.
Nearly everyone I know irl either respects Samsung or Apple, android users love Samsung and Apple users love Apple. That's the difference. Don't go acting all high and mighty after not knowing jacksh-t about stuff.
