BigDisplay, 03 Sep 2024Again far behind most other brands... I like to call Samsung fanboys Samcuck cus they love watching others have the best thing but don't want anything good for themselves, whilst trying to justify bad practices.

Charging speed isn't that important to me.
Samsung, despite being able to do bypass charging, limits these features to only when gaming.
What fans really want is an FE with full bypass charging.
That will be preferred over phones competing for charging speed.

The problem is that Samsung "Optimizes" the charging in such a way that there's a super small difference between 25 and 45W. I think a 5-10 min difference for most percentages till 80% and then they level out and become the same.

I had a 45 W charger from Samsung that lasted for 1 year, using a 25 W small anker one I had lying around. Don't miss it much after a month of usage. Basically feels the same.

Obviously, the FE model is a downplayed version of the main flagship. It has been like this for many years and hardly a surprise. You can't expect Samsung to make it the same charging speeds and same chipset as their main flagship?

I don't care about the fast charging as most of the time I charge my phone overnight. Also on my observation, when you charge fast - the battery discharges also fast, when you charge slow - the battery discharges slower. It like a glass of beer, if pour the beer too fast there will be more bubbles and foam, but less beer.

Well when you're right you're right. So from the official review S23 Ultra and S23 FE at Gsmarena
            45W wired, PD3.0, 65% in 30 min (advertised)
            [From 0 to 100%] 1:05h % aka 63 mins

            25W wired, PD3.0, 50% in 30 min
            [From 0 to 100%] 1:10 % aka 66mins

It's only a problem if you sleep for less than a hour each day.

Their batteries do seem to last long, though. I'll give them that. My S23U's battery is still at an estimated 104% of capacity after a year

Anonymous, 03 Sep 2024Believe what you will, but here's a fun fact - shaving... moreThis sounds like an Apple cope. Samsung has the manpower and resources to implement a proper way to charge. They even have a max charge limiter by default.
A phone capable of 67/90/120W charging is also capable of being able to charge down to 25w/33W/45W by using a non fast charge cable

Whilst annoying I guess it would be poor marketing if the cheaper FE had superior charging speeds to the flagship versions.

Although Samsung are really starting to lag behind the Chinese phones when it comes to charging speeds.

As for 100W++ charting...DO you really want that? Given how most people's batteries are already beaten to the ground by the 3rd year of use with 15-45W charging, imagine how long it'll last when you start doubling or tripling the stress on the cells.

                      Launch is for 24/09 😋

                        A55 got only 25W.
So what you said aint true.

For samsung 25W is ultra fast charging lol..

I really wonder for what will be good to make a phone which from the very start looks like a total looser.
This S24 FE looks like a race with a retired turle without all four legs.
Or a race of snails ona route 66 from start to end.

I'm not sure I understand this review. The FE has always been cheaper compared to the regular S phones, and the reviewer does a surprised pikachu face when they realize the processor is slower than the S24? xD

25W is not bad, provided people have those chargers. Because samsung doesn't provide chargers.
                                      For me ... I only have 18W-Nokia & 15W-Samsung chargers with me so 25W doesn't affect me.
Moreover, I've tried using those Vooc, super Vooc chargers on my samsung s20fe-5g phone, I don't see any charging speed boost as such.
