everything is better and simpler in the linux world, above all with a rolling distrubution, the simplest is in a microOS a lean workstation that you easily build on

Windows Emulation of x86 is bad, real bad. Compare to proton or rosetta 2.
So if you are not running arm native for windows, or purposely want to play x86 games.. this is not for you.
This is only for spreadsheet, document... and video consumption.. But then again.. a tablet is much better suited for these tasks.

Qualcomm driving prices down, that is the joke of the decade.
This company is running head first into one of the biggest antitrust lawsuits ever, over their patent abuse to kill competition and then setting ridiculous prices on "upgrades" that are barely visible in a microscope. IT is broken to the core at the moment. A few companies sitting on their respective corners so they can all set profit margins at 100-200%.

YUKI93, 05 Sep 2024You sure about that? Just go to Notebookcheck and compare t... moreThere is an advantage for X elite over the current batch of low power x86 chips. But new intel/AMD stuff are around the corner.
That statement is more about the architecture as a whole. X86 programs aren't made to take power consumption in mind. Plus ARM chips has a node advantage but those aren't advantages for the ARM architecture, if newer x86 programs are made to be more efficiently use power and manufactured on the same node as Apple/Qualcomm's chips I think there'll be no difference between ARM and X86. If you compare the gap of x86 chips during the M1 era and the gap when compared to say M4 vs current gen x86. The gap is much narrower.

What is the point of paying 900$ for ARM laptops which dont even run 80% of apps.
LMAO
These so called SD chips are too expensive in the first place but the writer of this article making it like they are so cheap. Lol

Enven though I don't want any Exynos for now, I had S22U in Europe and that was enought for me. No more until they improve.

Please learn the definition of the... moreYou understood what I meant.
English is my third language mate, you really know what I meant by a monopoly from QC.
They have on android a monopoly to impose THEIR chip at THEIR price and the makers are obligated to follow.
Or go eslewhere, whereas Samsung or Mediatek wasn't the best in the past.
I really hope this will change so QC could crash a bit and be back in reality. Customers will enjoy it too.

at $899 the 8x has 50% worse graphic and 20% worse performance than the 12x at $1,300 (around 30% cheaper) better go with the 12x

Just go to Notebookcheck and compare the latest Surface Pro/Laptop against any similarly-priced x86 counterpart. You'll notice the former uses far less power consumption. Less power consumption means longer battery standby.
At this point, the only reason to stick with x86 is better software compatibility.
