I have been very impressed with the Motorola phones since the Edge Plus 22, once I purchased the stylus. The Edge Neo looks and sounds like it's going to be another excellent buy.

magnaroader, 10 Sep 2024Agreed. That said, Android 14 really is a great OS to end ... moreTrue. Android has matured to the point that Google barely pointed out new breakthrough features other than some cosmetics on recent Google I/O. Imo anything Android 12 and later don't have much changes. This is also why imo many OEMs start offering 3 years of updates or more easily. IE it won't require much effort for them.

Based on my experience with a moto g51, i would say just avoid motorola. The software updates arrive very slow. They also tend to be buggy, after the last update the youtube app stops loading anything after a certain time or data limit has elapsed.

The issues may not be as much as before due to ufs storage on budget devices now. But issues still exists. Like how blazing fast the A15 is... until you start installing apps and then it bogs down, starting from the Message app.

That said, Android 14 really is a great OS to end on. We've really come to the bottleneck of Android in terms of features, I really don't see what Google can realistically add to Android 15 that will really differentiate it from the last OS version.
                        Maybe a proper desktop mode?
Even that, Motorola, Huawei/Honor and Samsung have been providing for years.

So anyone still looking to buy the previous Ax Series won't miss out on much until the Security updates stop coming.

And no, you haven't touched the WORSE OS skin ever....which is Xtouch from a smaller company called Skytouch which sells it's obvious Chinese knock off phones (they all look like Android iPhone hybrids) in the middle east, and are riddled with Ads in EVERYTHING. Even the settings app has ads being displayed.
That is the embodiment of HORRIBLE UI.

That said, Funtouch is hilariously cartoonish, which is why I don't like it. Still better than whatever the hell Touchwiz was before OneUI I guess

I don't mean to say that Hello UI is "horrible" as FunTouch OS imho. I'm pleased that FunTouch OS is becoming closer to Stock Android, but still far off from the barebones Nokia UI, unlike the counter-intuitive versions before FunTouch 12.

If you think FunTouch OS is horrible, you probably haven't experienced Transsion's XOS, which is the worst software experience I've ever come across.

EU will require tech gadgets to have 5 years support from June 2025 . This must be the start of a new policy by Motorola .

For 460 euro there are better options with not so good cameras but performance wise will last long. Year ago i got F5 for the sake of it's 7+ gen 2 performance so i have no problems for next 5 plus years that the phone will slow down as A15 be it's last OS Even tough be nice to have 3 OS updates i am fine as the support for app when these end for A15 be probably 10 years from now. By that time i have probably updated my phone to something new. As 10 years in technology is a long time where a lot can change to even have phones in the form they are now
