Google's second-gen foldable is still lacking in structural integrity.

So, the front fell off.

I am not Google fan by a longshot, BUT I hate how this channel's durability test is still somehow universally being accepted as relevant. Absolutely zero equipment, zero standardized testing, zero numbers, literally just some dude bending the device. Not only that he - as a human - can get stronger or weaker over time, we're also left to believe that he is not biased towards any brand, which is a HUGE leap of faith considering how popular the channel is and how absolutely easy it would be to simply 'not try too hard' when bending the phone.

Anonymous, 16 Sep 2024I know. But Samsung has the most durable foldable right nowLol , Have you never seen Samsung consumer complaints, Samsung Fold 1234 and Flip 1234 experienced a lot of damage within 6 months - 2 years

We see scratches at level 6 and deeper groves at level 7 🗣🗣🔥🔥

Just me, 16 Sep 2024Not in my region. Yes Its still more rare but nothing drast... moreAnd/or maybe their silly screens being creased beyond repair makes them embarrasing to be resold on the market. Last time I saw a Flip 3 used, the middle crease was beyond stupid and I can't blame the reseller if she only took a picture of the inner screen once.

One picture. Of the inner, main screen. Lmao.

whoever cares for Jerryrig destruction "tests" should not buy any smartphone. I owned the pixel fold and it never did bent, break or got dirt inside. These "tests" are non real and worth nothing but entertainment. Im not into buying any fold anymore, since EVERY plastic screen is horrible right now. You will NOT break your foldable, you will scratch the folding screen in seconds...and thats on purpose..

Funnily enough, if you bend your knee the opposite way that it was designed to, it breaks too.
Cant remember the last time I took a lighter to a phone screen either. In fact, common sense would suggest not to do that.

For 1/3 of the price I could live with "less warranty" :D

Google's software developers also designed the hardware.

I don't know what the hype is bcs this thing looks ugly in my eyes.

Anonymous, 16 Sep 2024All of these types were never practical in the first place.... moreLast time i looked used phone market was in the time of feature phones where you can just change battery as at these times the phone performance was pretty much same on budget to flagship

With smartphones i dont see a point cause you will have less warranty or dont have it at all. Also you dont know if the phone have being repaired already or there are issues. You basically buy a horse in the bag and it be totally a lotto what you get

And yet Google use the word “durable” in their advertising campaign for this phone!

Anton .el PAPI., 16 Sep 2024Who is so stupid to pay almost 2000 dollars for a foldable? There are sadly too many stupid rich people in the world who buy all types of trash and spend thousands of euros per month on mobile games. It's why there are these deals in mobile games thart cost you 100 euro to get a bit of taste that you can get from the game for a month playing it

Anders, 16 Sep 2024The seven people who bought one will be very disappointed😂👌🏻

I have being lucky so far that none have broke for that. Foldable open probably would not survive it or at least have less chance to survive.
