Google trolls Apple on its late adoption of RCS in new video ad

It is ironic that Google is trolling Apple about RCS late adoption when they currently have RCS bugs that compressed image to MMS quality making the whole switch to RCS useless. Both Apple and Samsung don't have this bugs.

    Bought a pixel for my dad. He liked it better than his previous iPhone.

      I have the feeling only few people around me even know what RCS messaging is. And here I am, still using WhatsApp/Telegram because of that.

                  like seriously, americans only like Pixels cus they're the only clean alternative to Samsung, that's it. if Google wasn't american then they'd have failed and folded 10 years ago. only the power of paying influencers is keeping them alive. or they're just bleeding money in terms of product sales but google doesn't care cus they get people into the google ecosystem/cloud services and sell their info.

RCS is so old that many carriers outside the US actually had dropped support for it ages ago as they realized people already moved on to chat platforms that are independent from carriers.

                        Scoring to own goal? RCS is a VERY old standard (2007) that Google also only recently woke up to support.....

                        (though it was not in 2007 what it is today)

This sort of ads will only give Apple fre... moreexactly. apple is intentionally withholding features so they can introduce later on and get more customers whereas google is unable to even match up to the standards set by other manufacturers. the only one getting trolled is google themselves. Apple isn't just two steps but rather a whole mile ahead of them. Samsung too. And Chinese manufacturers are lightyears ahead of both in a lot of ways but also worse in others. There seems to be no "perfect" phone.

I mean Apple customers already have their minds set on iPhone regardless, and now those on the fence no longer feel the need to buy a Pixel phone for RCS.                             Apple literally is already 2 steps ahead of Google in marketing without having to do anything,

                              It could be worth mentioning that yes Apple was late... But so was Google.
                              RCS exist since 2008. Carriers started deploying in 2012. Famously Orange *abandoned* their RCS server because Apple **and** Google didn't want to implement it.

                                im not defending apple, im just saying that it makes sense if the consumers like it. the same people who make fun of apple also glaze google and samsung for doing the bare minimum/doing barely nothing. make it make sense.
