If you don't want the 'same old' new phones, feel free to buy the Huawei Mate XT tri-fold phone. Which, might I remind, has the 7nm Kirin chip because Huawei was sanctioned and it couldn't even get midrange Mediatek chips.

      Major Upgrade they say. But..
      1. Does not have any premium games that will test those bad boys to the limit. Was expecting crysis to be ported on android. So I can play those games on the go. Turns out, it's just a RUMOR.
      2. No Upgrades with the thermal cooling. Especially if the players want to play games with 4GHZ processing ang more than 1GHZ of GPU processing while playing Call of Duty at higher settings.
      3. Didn't even raised the battery capacity to 8,000mah for the non-ultra and 10,000mah for the ultra version.

What's next? Similarity with the S24U?

S24 Ultra performed better on GPU than iPhone 15 Pro Max while 15 Pro Max did better in CPU. I believe S25 Ultra will keep dominating

Just the FYI behind my original post

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 appears on Geekbench 6th August 2024

                https://www.gsmarena.com/the_snapdragon_8_gen_4_appears_on_geekbench-news-64008.php

Me I answer all RHETORICAL questions

Interestingly from the above article it is this paragraph
"Word on the street is Qualcomm uses in-house Nuvia CPU architecture for its CPU clusters and the configuration is 2+6. The main cluster of two cores is clocked at a whopping 4.09 GHz, while the more efficient cluster of six is clocked at 2.78 GHz. The GPU is Adreno 830 and the whole chip is fabricated on TSMC's 3nm process"

Here is the problem from somewhere this one source he has INITIATED and PROMOTED the 2+ 6
Architecture ?? and 4K + clock speed (which an Oryon is quite able to achieve )

BUT...The problem is there is there is an ONGOING court case which was scheduled to commence 23rd September 2024 two days ago now postponed to December
The Gist is (Cut & paste www search hence quotes)

"Qualcomm's ARM Architecture License Agreement (ALA) is a contract between Qualcomm and Arm that is the subject of a legal dispute:

                Arm's claims
Arm claims that Qualcomm's ALA doesn't allow Qualcomm to use Nuvia designs, which were derived from Arm technology. Arm also claims that Qualcomm's ALA doesn't give Qualcomm the right to support Nuvia-based technology. Arm is demanding that Qualcomm destroy the Nuvia designs and stop using them.

                Qualcomm's claims
Qualcomm claims that it has the right to use Nuvia technology and knowhow under its ALA. Qualcomm also claims that Arm has breached the ALA by withholding deliverables that Qualcomm is entitled to. Qualcomm filed a complaint against Arm in the United States District Court for the District of Delaware, seeking damages and an order that Arm comply with its contractual obligations."

My answer factors in the ongoing case.

Qualcomm is NOT currently licensed to use
Nuvia-based technology as Nuvia ALA cannot be transferred when the company Nuvia was bought by Qualcomm

The Geekbench score for the purported Snapdragon 8.4 is false as NO Oryon or Oryon 4k Clock speed a Qualcomm were prohibited to work on ALL Nuvia Mobile SoC since 2022 as not licensed***

Unknown until October 24th-26th AFTER SUMMIT Qualcomm is it will be a 4nm process or 3nm which Apple currently enjoys

***Until Arm and Qualcomm settles there is NO Oryon, furthermore and this is important Qualcomm CANNOT develop/ test Oryon on Mobile SoC, so NO benchmarks.

                And yet somehow these do.

S24 Ultra is way too costly and s24 and s24 plus sell with shitty overheating and ineficient exynos. Talk about shooting on own foot

These clocks are what I expect from a phone enclosure.

Clocking it higher than their own laptops was insane tbh.

And, IIRC these clocks were suggested since the initial rumors of 8g4.

All I want to to is this: Is the S25 series a long lasting, durable, reliable mobile which is better than the S24 series of phones or not? Specifically I am speaking about battery capacity and life. Can someone shed some light on whether it is worth considering the S25 series if one wants a long lasting battery along with good performance and reliability? Thank you.

Remember ARM has ALWAYS BEEN more efficient than any other architecture dating back as far as the initial chip running off less than 1W!

Performance does NOT have to be or mean MORE POWER!
As evidenced with IBM+Apple Design team and Motorola the PowerPC chip used shorter threads to achieve more efficiency across the architecture allowing for its RISC chip design (same as ARM essentially) to process more instructions per cycle than the older traditional X86 desktop chips.

Today in mobile too many people MISTAKENLY READ ghz as the amount of POWER a processor uses vs it's true meaning cycles per second!

In a lamens analogy a person swinging a YoYo on a shorter string around a full circle gets higher frequency or Hz much more efficiently and with LESS energy to begin 1 revolution or to even maintain every subsequent revolution than someone eith a YoYo of the same weight and mass and aerodynamic shape using a long string. Literary try this yourself OR look at the inner spoken of gears Ona bicycle vs the outer sprockets = you'll use more energy to travel the same distance on the same bike than using the "lower" physical gears (yet we call them higher gears). It may FEEL like less work cause your legs don't feel the strain of the energy being spent but your lungs and heart will VERY quickly.

Same deal here with SoC's. For Single Core processing Apple's chip architecture team just has been doing it lo ger than most and much more efficiently than others.

                                        In short order that'll change.

Once you understand this you'll understand this hyperbole of mobile SoCs causing extreme heat and too much battery is nonsense. Yes heat is created that's physics boys and girls but not unnecessary. The entire PBC is architecturally developed for various tolerances and THATS why we have throttling on ANY SoC since leaving the server farms!!

Time to read and catch up kids.
