25 September 2024
It should sit between the X200 and X200 Pro.

jiyen235, 25 Sep 2024So you're saying they're not only downgrading the... moreYes but they have a new model which is the x200 pro mini. That is the one with the 6.3" screen and that will have the same main camera as the larger screened pro. It's an interesting option as it will have the best overall camera setup on a relatively small phone. The camera hardware will be better than the Xiaomi 15 which will be the same size. The Xiaomi 15 will definitely be more expensive than the Vivo x200. There is no doubt about that at all. I think the Vivo x200 pro mini will probably match the price of the Xiaomi 15 (or they will be very close anyway).

Anonymous, 25 Sep 2024It didn't sell well, so they scrapped it. Only a niche... moreNo it's not niche. You can see how people buy iPhone SE and how well it is sold while the phone is compact with loads of bezels and small screen. It's all about the phone price. Same is with the standard iPhone is sold well just like standard Samsung Galaxy S series as these are the smallest phones you can get as of now.

It all depends on the price of the phones as it makes no sense what so ever to spend a lot on a mini phone

Like Xiaomi 14 pro, Vivo x200 pro also downgraded the camera sensor just to sell more ultra model and premium price. Better to buy older generation one inch model for camera enthusiast.

Aierlan, 25 Sep 2024The base x200 is not getting the LTY-818. It's basical... moreSo you're saying they're not only downgrading the Pro but also keeping the base model the same? Vivo are falling off man.... I knew it, they peaked with the X100 series, 2023 was too perfect a year for Vivo.

I hope the prices are lowered to match the worse specs cus ain't no way someone in their right mind is gonna go for the X200 instead of a Xiaomi 15 at the same price.

Anonymous, 25 Sep 2024They should ask Apple what happened to the iPhone Mini series. It didn't sell well, so they scrapped it. Only a niche group of customers want mini phones.

Like with every tiny smartphone this is also DOA.
              Miini phones are useless.
Market is too slim for people using mini phone.
Mini phones are so bad litterary in everything.
You cant properly type on such small scree, you cant properly read from such small screen.
You cant have proper specs and big battery in such small phone.
It should be prohibited to make phones smaller than 6.7-7 inch.

Please bring a 5.8 Inch screen version with potent camera and fast charging.

jiyen235, 25 Sep 2024The X200 Pro got Xiaomi 14'd. Lost the 1 incher in the... moreThe base x200 is not getting the LTY-818. It's basically getting the same old main camera as the x100 and x100s. Basically no upgrade in the main camera of the standard model since the Vivo x80 which is disappointing (even the x80 had a slightly larger 1/1.49" sensor) . Only the x200 pro and x200 pro mini are getting the LTY-818. The x200 will have the IMX921 (1/1.56") as the main sensor. Disappointing as they use that in much cheaper phones like the Iqoo neo 9s pro+ and the Vivo s series

Anonymous, 25 Sep 2024They should ask Apple what happened to the iPhone Mini series. You can't compare Apple mini as it was too expensive and made no sense. Standard iPhone is already compact enough and then they have the SE that is even more compact.
So the mini made no sense to be 100 euro less then standard iPhone in the first place.

Mini phones are for people who dont have a lot of screen time. Dont play games or use social media with it. So you dont need flagship performance and so on with them. Budget to middle class performance be enough. Single camera that does decent quality pictures as you probably wont use the camera much also.

6.3 inches screen is mini now? What's next 6.6 inch mini?

The X200 Pro got Xiaomi 14'd. Lost the 1 incher in the Pro in place of a 1/1.28" one that the base phone has too now. The base phone gets a huge upgrade, both phones seem similar so the base phone is more enticing but the Pro is mid now.
