Anonymous, 28 Oct 2008@ flavor,
those companies (Nokia, Samsung, Blackbery, HTC... moreyes, i understand that Nokia, etc are stable company. but hey, if you're talking about sales after service, I would not buy any Nokia GSM phones as I already had bad experiences with my Nokia E51 & E70. Believe me, Nokia will cost you more than any other company when something happen with your Nokia phones. even my Nokia 6235 cdma cost me USD 15.00 to change its front casing only. what a waste.....
in Indonesia, Sony Ericsson is the 2nd company after Nokia for its popularity and I'm not worry for their 3 days-max service.
Talking about Siemens, I still can find their second condition and not to worry having my unique Siemens SK65 as we still have Siemens Sales after Service in Indonesia. So, what's the fuss?

The launch price of the XPERIA is not entirely surprising. This level of pricing has been seen before not just with SE but also with Nokia and even Samsung. I have experienced this for myself and so am not bothered by the price.
It would be interesting how SE bundles this OS with their intentions for the device. Undeniably their first WM device, so they would have to do a very good job of customizing the OS to the platform they intend SE to play in. I have the Nokia E90 for the last 15 months and feel it's time to shift to a new device - one that has intuitive UI but can handle multimedia (sadly the E90 doesn't do this very well). The iPhone is great for picture viewing, web browsing and music but sucks at texting. If the XPERIA proves to be as handy as the Nokias in texting and gives a semblance of multimedia functionality, then this is worth buying. I eagerly await this phone in Asia but will probably hold off purchase until a few of my friends give their own opinion of the device from personal use.

Anonymous, 28 Oct 2008Omnia is expensive but worth to buy cause
it come with 5m... moreHahaha.. the Omnia is a joke! The resolution is tiny! 240x400 was acceptable 5 years ago.
The X1 has a 800x480 screen. Good luck looking at tiny web pages on your crap Omnia..
For those complaining about the X1's price, it is obvious that you have never bought a high end phone. The X1 beats the iPhone 3G in all departments yet costs LESS that an unlocked Jesus phone. Even Nokia's best effort, the E90 is no match for this touchscreen powerhouse. The only main rival is the upcoming Touch HD but that will definitely cost around USD1000, which is again very reasonable considering it's price.
My average cost price every year has been around 400USD - buy a phone for 700-800USD and sell it less than a year later for 300-400USD.

Flavor, 27 Oct 2008To All:
I live in Indonesia and will give you a price li... more@ flavor,
those companies (Nokia, Samsung, Blackbery, HTC) are stable companies, while SE is still struggling to make some profit (and it looks like they are not doing it well).
some people really care about the after-sales service.
so, that's why people buy product from some companies because they believe that their expensive product will be supported by their service centres.
(remember siemens? when it was bought by benq, the support was all gone, and all the siemens owners have to accept the fact and put their phone to rest, cause it became a useless device)

too expensive, i seriously doubt it would sell...
coz, it's a bad investment.
not anyone willing to spend their money on an expensive product from a falling-down company.

Looking at the features of this phone it seems like its far more advanced than the iphone for example which sells for almost the same price at 700+ aud. Dosnt seem like a bad deal at the end of the day.

For the SE X1 to be the "Gucci bag" of Sony Ericsson phones (basically what someone else said in an earlier comment), I'm not impressed. There's way better stuff out there than this for half the price. I love Sony Ericsson phones but there's so much this device DOESN'T do for an expected $800. People have a point when they say "price verses specs" and to reply to that with "they're mad because they simply can't afford it" makes no sense at all. If you must have it for that price just to show off your wallet, I hope you can somehow find some satisfaction in it other than to just ridicule others for not buying it. Maybe some of us are smart enough to grab something that does twice as much for half the price and laugh at your Xperia.
SE is just no longer worth it.

$800... I'd rather buy a PSP and a phone for half that and carry those everywhere. I really love SE but recently Nokia has been more interesting to me because their prices are actually good.

Erick, 28 Oct 2008I agree that it is a shame that Sony Ericsson's products ar... moreYes SE products unit price is very high (really higher than Nokia). Because their new products are really well. SE can demand and priced high because SE products are fast and durable. SE sound and picture quality really well. Even SE 256K color screens are really better than Nokia 16M color screens.
I bough C702. It’s a perfect phone. Event performance thousand times better than Nokia N96. C702 picture and sound quality is really good.
