I'm really annoyed with comments that complains about X1 price versus its specs. Dude, if you can't afford it, just shut up and get something cheaper that you can afford. There are lots of people in this world that can afford to buy this phone and they don't always buy it for its functionalities. They buy it to show off their status quo, exclusivity, looks, brand, design, etc. Same reason why luxury bag brand like LV, Gucci, Prada, Hermes are sold like being giving away for free whereas, there're many cheaper counter part bag brands with more functionalities and same quality to get. Got it??

Anonymous, 28 Oct 2008what E90 features are better than X1? tell me?Just bigger s... moreI agree with you. But in Indonesia, having Nokia E90 is a matter of status. Everyone's blinded with that even it's launch price was between USD 1,100.00 - 1,500.00. Coz they can afford it. So, personally, the price for Xperia is kinda understandable, unlike BB Bold which cost you USD 800.00 - 900.00. And Iphone 3G USD 1,300.00 (my friend's boght it here in Indonesia). Waht a drooling price.

Anonymous, 28 Oct 2008The price has to drop to 500USD max for that kind of specs!Guess you should wait for another more than 1 year to buy this. As I did buying my P1i. I waited for almost a year to get 60 % from its launch price. You just need to be more patient, can you?

Remind me with their U700. I thought it's made from metal, but no. I guess you are Omnia's owner and make kind of statement with trembling... Poor you

cool s.e. make a phone that is outdated and costs a ridiculous amount. it was cool back in Feb when it was announced but when you take eight months to produce it you kinda, how do i say it? FAIL!

Anonymous, 27 Oct 2008It's a shame all SE products are overpriced.I agree that it is a shame that Sony Ericsson's products are currently over-priced. If the company would be willing to sell their generally excellent products at lower prices it would gain rapid market share as people will choose and appreciate quality. Proof of this is the excellent sales that the K800i is currently enjoying as being an older device it provides great SE quality at an affordable price.

Comparing the price of this phone to the price of another is a non-issue.
Just because a phone is more expensive doesn't necessarily mean that it's better, simply that "it's more expensive"
See if the specs that it offers are worth the price to you.

Personally, the specs aren't worth it to me. SonyEricsson dropped the ball taking so long to bring this to market. Initial sales may appear to be high due to the persons that pre-ordered the phone but with Xmas approaching and once that inital buzz wears off, I think the price will have to drop fast.

I won't say what model I'll be getting instead, this is about the Xperia

When will GSM Arena get around to reviewing the X1 thoroughly:

Does it share the GPS lag issue with the touch diamond/touch pro (both manufactured by HTC using similar chipsets from Qualcomm)?
What is the speed of the ROM like?
Is there an issue with Bluetooth not maintaining a steady connection?
How much available ram is there and is 128mb really cordened off for the graphics.

This is a WM phone based on a buggy but powerful operating system, it is heavily customisable if you don't mind getting your hands dirty and with additional software it will have all the functionality of a laptop and a touch friendly interface but at less than 1/15th of the weight and size. Its price is comparable to that of the HTC Pro on first release and will inevitably drop. I'm impressed by the uild quality and I think that warrents the premium.

A lot of people have said you can get other phones which are better for less. Well the interface may not be friendly to the inexperienced but it is powerful and versatile and no other phone will come close to a well specced WM phone like this in terms of what it can do with the right software installed.

I've been looking for this, but here in Canada is too expensive, I can get a Touch Pro for half of that price, still, I'll just wait a couple of months maybe and get it for my birthday, who knows it may be the best since first batch sometimes comes with issues.
