This handset looks and SHOULD work amazingly, but it just doesnt!
played with a pre-release and not impressed!!
was bitterly dissapointed, expecting big things (maybe too much) from the sony "flag-ship" phone but like the C902, dissapointing, flagship my foot!!!
Sorry my beloved Sony, never though would say it, u just dont live up to the hype and the cost is too much now!!!

Nice if we take a look to what is this XPeria: a device designed by an swedish-japanese company, manufactured by an taiwanese company and that runs an OS made by an american company. That's globabilization in its essence. Just my humble thoughts... BTW, not that expensive if you take compare to HTC's and Nokia's best offerings.

My X1 one will arrive tomorrow on contract, as soon as it does I will post a review on what it is like (in my oppinion). Knowing Sony Ericsson I will not be disapointed.

I love Sony Ericsson but 800$ ??? Thats too much to ask for a Taiwanese (HTC) phone with a Keyboard and a touch screen running Windows Mobile.

I will get it once the price goes down a little.....

I've never been disappointed with SE's. I currently have the SE P1 and i love it. This SE XPeria looks really sleek and great and I want to have it, but it is way too costly. They should have lowered their price range a little.

You will buy this if you want, need & can afford it. I'll stick with my new SE P1i that I bought last June. And SE X1 will definitely the worthy upgrade next year. Consider it would be a lot cheaper than when it first launched. As usual right? Just wait for a while will ya...

From everything I've read, it looks like the X1 is the leading device out there. Being that I'm in the US, I'm interested in getting one that works on the HSDPA 850 / 1900 / 2100. Interestingly enough, some of the sites (mostly from the UK) that currently/recently have/had stocks shows that the current X1 does have the HSDPA 850 such as:

                                        http://www.play.com/Mobiles/Mobile/4-/5192163/Sony-Ericsson-XPERIA-X1-Sim-Free-Unlocked-Mobile-Phone/Product.html
                                        http://www.plemix.com/phone-sonyericsson-x1-phone

Even, Tracy & Matt's recent review supports the claim: http://www.tracyandmatt.co.uk/blogs/index.php/2008/10/27/sony-ericsson-xperia-x1-review

If anyone has purchased an X1 from these folks, can you validate such claim? Much appreciated.
