I don't think this rumor is true since Galaxy S26 Series are getting biggest changes like increase in battery capacity and faster charging.

But deep down I hope the rumor is false and they stick to S26. It's instantly recognisable as it corresponds with their year launch as you've stated earlier.

Now a days compact phones are like very few. Even apple's standard pro is now 6.3 inch. I think 6.1 inch phone will disappear in coming days

Because that would make no sense!
I hope the S26 Pro will simply be called the S26. That would be the most logical naming scheme. Otherwise, why name it Pro if there is no weaker model?
This is the exact reason why I find Apple Vision Pro to be an extremely idiotic name...

Do Not cancel S26 for asking Cancel S26 Plus the rename will be S26 Plus S27 for again and Like S27 And S27 Ultra no longer when missing S27 Plus doing price.

Which brands? Atleast list the models or brands doing that. I don't remember about any such thing in the recent past except for a single model from Xiaomi. For the brands who haven't launched a single smaller device in the past few years, what made them to suddenly launch smaller devices? If there's no such models launched or any concrete news published by the Chinese brands, how Samsung started to fear?
Even when posting rumors please do the proper reporting.

I am a loyal Samsung user who also carries an iPhone. I currently have an S24 and an iPhone 15 Pro. The Galaxy is a better phone hands down. The base model S24 beats the iPhone 15 Pro in every way (except UWB). I have no desire to carry a huge phone. My wife has an S24 Ultra and it has some nice features but not enough for the trade in size. I travel and I’m always on the go. They already killed the Tab S10 and I am super unhappy as I have a Tab S9 and was looking forward to the Tab S10. If they kill the smaller S Series phones, I will go iPhone exclusively.

Wouldn't the naming be confusing? As opposed to dropping the vanilla S26 wouldn't it be better to rename the S26+ to the vanilla and keep the Ultra? Whatever man.
