Samsung may cancel the Galaxy S26

01 October 2024
2026 could be a wild year for the Korean company.

Not only you can't really buy "mini" phones anymore, you soon won't be able to buy "not ridiculously oversized ones" anymore either. Hello?! I gave up and went with the trend of oversized phones, but I have huge pockets and I'm a power user. Not all are and for most people huge phones are more of inconvenience than benefit.

Chinese influencer says the biggest brand in the world will cancel its flagship model. I wonder why?

It is inevitable they will change the lineup at some time, as mobile evolves. Another fantasy idea is that they'll change how people buys variations to adapt to the new EU rules requiring long-term reparability. It would make sense to give users more configuration options when the phones has to be built for component replacements.

      China: 1 Samsung:0

        Here's better strategy for Samsung.
        ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

S26 Ultra (pro camera & flagship chip) 6.7"
        S26 (pro camera & flagship chip) 6.3"
S26 FE (without periscope & flagship chip) 6.5"

        A76 6.5"
        A56 6.3"

        ---------------------------------------------------------------------

Galaxy S26 becomes Pro camera with periscope telephoto a-la the Pixel 9 Pro & iPhone 16 Pro. 6.2" display & 70mm width. This will pair perfectly with Ultra.

X out Galaxy S26+ it is useless without the Pro features. Rather bring out the A76 in 6.5" range.

Make A56 smaller in 6.3" range.

            S24 FE is official.

They should just rebrand them to a higher level:

              S26 is now called S26+

              S26+ is now S26 Ultra

S26 Ultra is now known as S26 Ultra Max.

And then introduce a new model called S26 Ultimate which is a foldable version of S26 Ultra Max.

Next year, a 3-fold version is called S26 Ultimate Max.

Two years later, 4-fold with display on both sides can be S27 Ultimate Pro Max Plus.

Anyway! There were some rumors that they are gonna make the S25 a little larger in size, like 6.4". Some news on that?
This, and a greater display resolution would be a good thing IMO. As an opponent for the Xiaomi 14 and the iPhone 16 Pro...
Although I've hat more than enough phones at home, the Xiaomi 14 was irresistible! I didn't even tried!

Well, there is fold ultra coming, triple fold/ roll coming next year.
Too many devices to care about. To be expected.

It was clearly a joke, not a leak. Yet gets written up into an article.

Gsmarena just wrote a joke up into an article

Waiting for s27 series. But will go for s27+ instead. Using s24+ now.

So I'll stay on s23 vanilla!

Let's take the S24 as an example: for me, it is too small and it has insufficient display resolution. At least that; so I'm not talking about (the lack of) SD card and audio jack. As it is, the S24 is no option for me.
If the S26 is to keep the same recipe, they may aswell not making it at all.

heeey samsung😺,sony and lg awaits you at the bottom of the swamp😼

First read this on Twitter by some low life YT "creater / influencer"

Samung will get my most prominent middle leg and digit if they do this.

Samsung just simolt NEEDS to make a better set of Galaxy S device phones not cancel them outright.

Ice says anything that crosses his mind and people swallow it up just like that. There is absolutely no possibility that Samsung would ditch base phone model that is selling twice as good as the Plus. The reasoning that some chinese phones are “better” because they put 10x zoom in a compact phone is ridiculous in of itself

Make S and Ultra only .
6.6" and 7.1" both 21:9 ( this way everyone here will become in favor of a n industry standard ratio ) , this way other follow.

Makes more sense to get rid of the Plus variant...as in, remove the base model, call the Plus model the new base one and call it a day...and for that matter, remove the Ultra and call it Note like it was before.
I swear, product managers these days have no idea what they're doing.
