Ice says anything that crosses his mind and people swallow it up just like that. There is absolutely no possibility that Samsung would ditch base phone model that is selling twice as good as the Plus. The reasoning that some chinese phones are “better” because they put 10x zoom in a compact phone is ridiculous in of itself

Make S and Ultra only .
6.6" and 7.1" both 21:9 ( this way everyone here will become in favor of a n industry standard ratio ) , this way other follow.

Makes more sense to get rid of the Plus variant...as in, remove the base model, call the Plus model the new base one and call it a day...and for that matter, remove the Ultra and call it Note like it was before.
I swear, product managers these days have no idea what they're doing.

Samsung really wants to kill its last medium-sized phone and only wants to sell 15 different extra-big phones? Even A16 grows from 6.5 to 6.7 inch. There won’t be a phone smaller than 6.6 inch at that point.

It seems that they will make a overhaul in their S line and the A line in 2026. Only by 2025 the names are confirmed. Even Tabs.

The vanilla model missing is a bad idea.

Since the S22 series the + variant is selling the worst.

Doesn't sell well, I would assume? Might as well remove them from the market.

Next move could be ditching Snapdragon altogether since they kept increasing their price. Might be good to go for Mediatek, they'll only improve further should more brands make the switch.

Either way, bold move for sure.

Probably merge the regular S26 and S26+ into one device. Apple increased the display size of the 16pro slightly. Chinese Compact competition is around 6.3" (Xiaomi 14, Vivo 200 mini). So I guess the "S26 pro" will be around the same size.

Anonymous, 01 Oct 2024" Chinese brands are preparing an onslaught of smaller... moreSuch a strange wording indeed. Samsung is the clear number 1 in Android smartphones worth over 600 USD.

Perhaps there is a plan to replace it with a new nameplate... the s26 goes away but something else in its slot. "The all new Samsung Galaxy Dwarf" or something, to generate hype. Its all rumor at this point anyway.

Anonymous, 01 Oct 2024" Chinese brands are preparing an onslaught of smaller... moreThat is probably the weirder part, the base S series sells totally fine, so while ditching the Tab S10 makes some sense, ditching base S phones does not.

But they probably want to make the FE relevant again, just like with S23 FE, the S24 FE (which is physically larger than S24 Plus) is at launch more expensive than the base S series, because the latter dropped in price.

So instead of making base S phone better and not aggressively drop it's price, they rather ditch it.

                            What a stupid logic.

So I guess that means they have to place some relevance to the FE series again.

As for the 3.5mm and microsd slot story, the answer is Sony, Sony, Sony, Sony or budget phones that are not Sony.

Weird when device like s24 can sell at least 8 million units before s25 is out and phones like mi15, x200 pro mini together will not even in China, imagine overseas.

Shamrock Sean, 01 Oct 2024No the best compact phone is Pixel 9 Pro As a Pixel 9 Pro user I don't agree at all.

I like the phone for it's custom rom support and good cameras, but both S24 and iPhone 16 are more comfortable in hand, smaller and faster.

                                      For less money.

Maybe if they stopped stuffing their OS with double apps that no one wants (Samsung browser, messaging, store, email, etc...) not to mention pre-installing garbage like Netflix, Facebook, & Spotify. Then taking away features users actually wanted like a Charging brick, Micro-SD Card slot, & a Headphone jack; they might be able to sell some phones. That’s the exact reason why I stopped buying from them.
