Samsung Galaxy A56 benchmark results reveal Exynos 1580's faster CPU and new RDNA GPU

02 October 2024
"Faster" as in clock speed, anyway, we don't actually know what the CPU cores are used in the new chipset. But we do know that it will have a next-gen GPU.

Once upon a time, there was OxygenOS but that merged with Oppo's bloated ColorOS.

And China might get further sanctions and tech restrictions, those Chinese brand phones might end up like LG (discountinued) or Sony (negligible market share). Good luck with that.

It's a shame Samsung is not using midrange Mediatek chips for its midrage A-series Galaxy phones. It's going in all the way with Exynos.

The last Mediatek phone from Samsung was the A34 from 2023. I think Samsung wants to avoid getting embarassed again by having Mediatek outperform Exynos on its own phones.

All up to 4 major Android upgrades, and these are off the top of my head, obviously there're more. Besides, updates to Android at this point aren't what they used to be, you can stay on Android 14 for another six years and in terms of features, there will be no major additions, Android like smarthphones has peaked.

No warranty, constant software problems and incompatibility, just not worth it.
The chinese phones with global firmware are just as expensive as samsung's phones. A decent spec Redmi Note-series costs the same as a Galaxy A-series in Europe.

Anonymous, 03 Oct 2024please finally 256GB storage + 8GB RAM for the base version... moreI second that 8GB RAM for the base version is a necessity for any mid-range phone in 2024 because of the AI.
you could even say Samsung low sales in the mid-range segment is because of the low specific & Exynos chip and consequently lower performance, overheating & overpricing too

Hope they fix the efficiency in A56. My A55 is really hot on a basic usage...

Samsung foundry isn't as good as Tsmc one, probably they can't even get A720 under 1W hence you need to be smart to compete, so for them using 4x A520 is good move so they can compete at low load.
