The Theft Detection Lock is particularly interesting.

Surely, Google does it to help us. Not use my data, not spy, .... In fact they were found guilty in US congress for data breach and use of customer data

I protect my data by not holding it in my phone or in PC
I have them on external hard drive

The only data that is in the phone as a threat is the browser history and saved login to places.
Never mind that the browser history and comments left are the data that the google on their own steal and sell by forcing you to accept to share your data if you want to use a app or something like gallery in your phone

"Google is making it easier to protect your data if your phone gets stolen"

So only Google is allowed to steal my data? That's not fair.

The simple way is just to detect face - if doesnt match, turn on gps, send location to email, make few photo of thief from front camera etc.
