Back when you could download any and every thing without a warning, malicious apps and viruses abounded. Everyone said apple was secure and android was not. It's their system they have every right to tell you you are on your own if you decide to install something they don't know. At least they dont stop you unlike Apple

I'm OK with everything settled but with Google mandated to open their Play Store catalog to other stores. Why!? They are allowed to be published and downloaded from Play Store and have their own catalog of apps. Why should Google act as an API and give the others their catalog - they are free to build their own. This is unfair - those third-party stores will just become a front-end for the Play Store. They are free to work and attract developers themselves.

I don't like Google but they can't possibly allow other app stores in their own app store. That's stupid. Not even thinking of unvetted harmful apps! Goes to show how backwards courts are!
A better solution is Google being forced to make their apps (including Play Store) and "services" etc. totally uninstallable. And no Play Protect on by default. A simple warning by the Android System itself is enough. The warning should not be removed, because people are dumb and will install viruses. You can install what App Stores you want then, the same way you can today - download apk, and install.

On one hand I understand why this is good, but also, this isn't iOS. Nobody forced you to use Google Play Store for everything, you can just download other markets from your browser..

The fact that the google play s... moreAs much as I hate California, a) I hate Google more than California or Epic, and b) this was done by a federal judge and jury in a federal district court, not a California state court. And unlike in Epic v. Apple, where Epic only won on their California state law claims, here Epic prevailed over Google on all their claims, under both federal and state law.
