Bionic chip still reign supreme!

Anonymous, 15 hours agoCPU power is the most important factor in image quality on ... moreDumpest comment I have seen on a while. Let's just add 1/10 inch sensor to any phone and call it a day, as long as CPU faster imagine quality will be 50% better every year 🤣 cameras quality has nothing to do with CPU genius.... it has to do with sensor size and optics, who could have guessed, suprise, surprise, no one saw this one coming.

They did not bother the price h... moreit is not 35 out of 1200, it is 35 out of 400-600$.(I may not be update but I remember S24U costs samsung around 550$ and s23U was 470$, there a alot of cheaper phones with flagship SoCs in the market too) so yes, around 6-9% of the whole manufacturing price, and that is A LOT!

Plus, u can find s24 128gb for 550€, price of Realme GT 6 with Qualcomm sd 8s gen 3. To call someone tik tok generation u need to support your argument with complete facts, not like this. I wipe out this nonsense like a dust! U need to learn much more to argue with me, no offense! Also, i want this mt 404 to comment something, to show argument or something on any article. Please everybody that has or is about to do disregard the Pricing Article of SoC it is NOT a fact
The Dimensity 9400 SoC WILL most definitely cost less than the next Qualcomm SoC, but as neither costs are known. The recent article citing exact cost 😂 [source tweet on X] are nowhere near accurate or indeed has since verified or corroborated by another person currently resident on this planet)

BTW This same leakster posted on D9400 architecture AND clockspeed (this leak got BOTH also wrong, what is wrong with his cut and paste?

There is a rumour going round which may prove correct, if and that a BIG IF another alleged story proves to be correct

We all have to wait until 10/30/2024 however Samsung may have already made decisions months ago or not.

Article Samsung struggles with Exynos 2500 production, all Galaxy S25 units could switch to Snapdragon? https://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_struggles_with_exynos_2500_production_all_galaxy_s25_units_could_switch_to_snapdragon-news-64818.php

Option Q There were so many nay sayer until the 9-core Exynos 2400 silenced them

Many are still wedded in the belief that Qualcomm is good everything else is bad. Mediatek responded as did Samsung. As long as the best SoC is being used in FLAGSHIP phone, it doesn't bother me, or you. I said this in 2023 indeed it is possible that only contractual arrangements prevented the BEST SoC being used then. Just me.

Option M It could be D9400 / Exynos 2500 split due these unconfirmed low yields together with the inevitable price hike the flagship Qualcomm will request demand could in theory result

Not until 10/24/2024 when Qualcomm Official Announcement of their FLAGSHIP SoC. Qualcomm have previously used the event to confirm manufacturer adoption.

The latest Mediatek could still reign supreme for Android phones equally. If benchmarks place Qualcomm above Mediatek (a reversal) and only by a marginal amount this could benefit Samsung in negotiating an equivalent price for Samsung to remain Qualcomm customer https://www.sammobile.com/news/mediatek-dimensity-9400-chip-galaxy-s25-announced

The first comparison we will know is the Dimensity 9400 over the 9300 benchmark AND how much this 3nm SoC improves compared to Apples A18 another 3nm

What is unknown now and won't be for many months rounded corners or sharp corners ? 😱 EXTREMELY IMPORTANT
                  To a lesser extent the performance of a 3nm E2500 over the 4nm E2400

I may have got my priorities wrong here but seriously there is on paper more potential gains to be had with a 9-Core 3nm SoC than with an 8 Core 3nm.

I see rumours cited as if fact Samsung may be for marketing favour Qualcomm, but if the D9400 proves once again to eclipse Qualcomm and cost more, why are Samsung not using Flagship SoC? Add to that another variable Qualcomm SoC could come in Third behind Samsung. I don't think a case could be made to include Qualcomm

We may know as early as 10/24/2024 or as late as February 2025 as Samsung S2* have always wanted to be 100% Exynos, that is dependent on if the yield story is true.

                                  Summary
-Gpu is really good over 50% efficient increase
-Cpu good also around 15-20% efficient increase
-Cortex A720 star of the show, Amazing efficient increase probably because of newer 3nm node.
-X925 is so and so, perfomance increase over X4 but it use more than 7W one core alone, seems Mtk/Arm wanted to match Oryon cores.

D8400 if true use more cortex A720 cores I won't be suprised if it outperform D9400 in real life.

SShock, 12 hours agoThis is unfortunate because Mediatek has been killing it on... moreI personally upgrade my primary phone in 2 years, then use it as the backup phone for another 2 years. 3 years OS update + 1 year security update is already good for me.

My main reason to update this fast is because I'm tech enthusiast, and I love tech... and that's why I'm here in GSMArena.

I'm not some lousy shallow pocket that just read GSMArena for 5 years without buying anything

Vasra, 13 hours agoIf Mediatek chips would get proper software support and AOS... moreThis is unfortunate because Mediatek has been killing it on the hardware side for last couple of years with really competitive chipsets. But if you sell a premium top end chipset, people also expect premium support and 2-3 years is just not enough. I personally don't even look at phones that don't offer at least 5 years of major OS updates. But most of those upped the support to 7 recently (Samsung and Google), Apple has been on 5 forever and sometimes even more depending on popularity of active devices and their capabilities I guess. It's mostly Chinese brands that barely offer more than 2-3.

If Mediatek chips would get proper software support and AOSP source releases beyond 2-3 years, this would great news. AS it stands now, yes interesting, but hardware is only half of the equation.
