The fluidity and functionality depends on if they can integrate the HW and SW properly, Like Apple and Samsung does.
(Apple makes both the HW and SW, Samsung makes the HW, refines the SW).

Looks like Huawei will finally be free of AOSP baggage. Will most likely pick up a Huawei phone just for HarmonyOS Next.

Unless they wrote whole thing from scratch (no android code, no linux code) to be very efficient, it doesn't really seem that critical. Just another OS to launch apps and make phone calls. If it fails they can just their existing OS and nobody would care.
