Well, between, X100 Pro's cameras and X200 Pro's, I won't hesitate and choose X200 Pro.

It's probably a step back on main 23mm sensor...even if you get about 65% more light in a 1" sensor, 1/1.28" stays very good sensors (more or less the kind of size you get on iPhone 16 Pro or Pixel 9 Pro)
But damn, that difference on Telephoto ! 1/1.4, the biggest telephoto on a smartphone ! Nearly 3,5x more light than the 1/2.51" on X100 Pro. You've got the tele from x100 Ultra !

I think the move is positive!

      Has anyone talked about negative optimization on their camera for their phones after one year? As this is what a lot of users experienced in China. The camera capabilities dropped when a new Vivo phone has been released and the users keep getting backstabed on the specs.

People are noticing. It's just Chinese OEMs needs to work on software. Oppo and One Plus have. Xiaomi still lagging behind by a lot, but they are on track. Also hearing that they might use bigger sensor than 1 inch this time with 15Ultra. I hope it's true. Honor has shifted to 1 inch sensor too. Huawei Pura 80 Ultra might be using better sensor than 1 inch sensor from Omnivision.

If they over think, they buy Pixel and One Plus. One Plus 12 and Google Pixel 9 Pro XL users have realised that, there is life beyond Apple. And things will change in three years of time. If Samsung keeps same camera hardware for S26U as well then they are screwed for next five years. Huawei has done some fantastic job in hardware and software, they will take over Samsung in five years of time when their chip is competent enough.

                      I agree with all of the points. But UFS 4.0 on X200 Pro is somewhat faster than UFS 4.0 on S24U. Why that's the case?

                                Inside your head, components have exactly same price year after year.

                                1) Even if X200 pro was exactly equal to x100 pro, phone would be more expensive because of D9400.

                                Price increase does not follow proportion unlike you think.
                                Losing imx989 is not enough to compensate what other upgrades cost.

                                Just because difference between A2 and A is more than difference between A3 and A2, does not mean first upgrade costs more than the second.

                                Both d9400 and 8g4 are said to be near 40% more than d9300 and 8g3.
                                That is surely at least $40.

                                Trading type1.0 for 1/1.28" does not save $40, $50 or $80 as you think.

                                        As I have said before, new SoC could easily be $30, $40 , $50 more than previous.
                                        You're not saving this money by reducing size of 1 camera.
